"It seems I really didn't mistake you that day; it is indeed you," Garrett Vincent said, glancing at Lauren with an indifferent expression. "You're here to ask me not to mention seeing you to Jonathan Quintero, aren't you?"
At the mention of Jonathan Quintero, Lauren's body trembled.
It had been so long since she had heard anyone speak that name.
A name that was etched in her heart, one she had loved and hated deeply.
But now, all she wanted was to completely distance herself from it and live a peaceful life.
"Yes," Lauren bit her lip, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know I have no leverage in this conversation, but I just hope you can pity me and pretend you never saw me."
Her tone was extremely humble; at that moment, if Garrett Vincent had asked her to kneel, she would've done it without hesitation.
"You should know that he's been looking for you these past few years," Garrett Vincent replied.
Lauren pressed her lips together in silence.
