Josephine nearly choked on his words.
"Two-timing? What the heck! The truth is, I haven't even managed to handle one of those 'boats' properly!"
But in front of Kieran, she paused and decided to explain things in a way that wouldn't piss him off.
"Well... it's because my mom forced me into this blind date. She said if I didn't go, she'd cut ties with me. I was actually gonna tell the guy I have a boyfriend, but he interrupted me."
Surprisingly, that wasn't even a full-on lie.
"Your mom is forcing you into blind dates?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Y-yeah!" She gave an awkward smile.
Her mom was obsessed with matchmaking, and honestly, Josephine felt like she was being emotionally tortured every time it came up.
"So, you haven't told your parents that you already have a boyfriend?" he asked, and there was a dangerous glint in his eyes when he said it.
Josephine suddenly felt guilty. How was she even supposed to explain that to her parents?
