After assuring his wife that he would be back by the time she entered labour, he went out. Arka Bose was a regular nine-to-five salesman with an average income. He got married last October, and about a year later, he is expecting his firstborn. This is a Typical Middle-class family situation, his wife bids him farewell with visible tension in her face. After all, he took an extended vacation to stay with her, but suddenly he gets called in in the middle of the night, which was not a normal occurrence, but it was not as if a situation like this had never arisen. Last week, he was suddenly called in while he was eating and had to leave his food behind to go to the office. With no overtime pay and several breaches of contract, Arka was just your typical exploited worker who was too good to leave the company that he served for over five years.
His wife pleaded to him several times to quit his job, but it was a government job, and with a typical mainstream mentality, he chose security over money, peace, satisfaction, enjoyment, and family life.
He sacrificed His entire life just for security, and what will it give him in return?

On his way to his office, he has to cross through several places that are not safe for people to wander during the Night, including political dealings, human trafficking, and sex workers. The alleyways were a perfect breeding ground for illegal activities, and he had to cross several of these alleyways, and unfortunately for him, he witnessed something he shouldn't have.
Two rough-looking men and a woman were in the alleyway hunting for their prey. Of the two men, one of them looked quite Old, maybe around in his mid-forties, and with him was a boy roughly in his twenties. The woman was a healthy-looking girl in her thirties and looked as if she were part of the so-called LGBTQ community, as she was the one who was initiating the act. By the Act, I mean grabbing a girl's ample bosom while caressing her breast. The girl who was being harassed appeared to be in her twenties and was probably returning from work or an internship, as she was dressed professionally, she was wearing a white cotton t-shirt with a greyish green necktie and formal pants. Yes, she was probably a college student who went to an internship.
Meanwhile, the woman was dressed in a one-piece dress with revealing cleavage, and her act was quite indicative of her LGBTQ nature. By the time Arka reached the alleyway, the woman had already ripped off the girl's necktie and unbuttoned two of her round fasteners. The other two were doing a good job of holding apart her arms as they seemed to enjoy the show and eagerly waited for their turns.
Seeing the sight, Arka gave out an angry remark, " What are you all doing?"
Arka was a Great Person who was righteous and had always wished to uphold justice when needed, except when it came to his own well-being.
He wished he had never taken the path of a salesperson and pursued his dream of becoming a police officer, but financial conditions and the constant demand for a government job by his parents forced him to take this path.
At least he was able to marry the one person who was with him through all the hardships. Girls like his wife are hard to find, and he is very lucky to have found his dream girl, but even after her constant pleas to leave this torturous job, he chose to stick with it with the hope that when he reaches a certain level of accomplishment, he will be able to change the system.
But he didnt know that all his dreams and aspirations, happiness, were going to be erased that night.
As soon as he said that, the instigators looked back directly at him with a stern look, and the woman with half-closed eyes looked at Arka's face and slightly licked her lower lip as if she were looking at prey. Her hands were still grabbing the girl, but he slowly put them down and turned to Arka. The two men let go of the girl as she dropped to the ground with a loud Thud.
With the three of them turned towards Arka, He was seen visibly frightened. He didn't know if they had any weapons on them or if they possessed any supernatural means.
