Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

The following week came quietly.

‎Cloud, Ray, and Cally escorted Gothim to the airport early in the morning. The sky was pale and calm, and the wind moved gently across the open space as they stood outside the departure area. Gothim adjusted his coat and looked at them one by one.

‎"Take care of the house," he said firmly. Then his gaze softened slightly. "And take care of each other."

‎Cloud smiled. "We will, Dad."

‎Ray simply nodded. "Safe trip, sir."

‎Cally stepped forward and shook Gothim's hand respectfully. "We'll manage everything here."

‎Gothim gave a final look before walking inside, disappearing into the airport crowd.

‎For a moment, they all stood in silence. Then Cloud exhaled. "Well… he's gone."

‎Cally nodded. "Let's go home."

‎When they returned to the mansion, everything felt unusually quiet. The large house, once filled with movement and guards, now felt like an echoing space. After a short while, Cally received a call and had to leave.

‎"I'll be back later," he said. "Something important came up outside."

‎And just like that, Ray and Cloud were left alone in the big mansion.

‎At first, they didn't know what to do.

‎Cloud sat on the long sofa, spinning a pen between her fingers. Ray stood by the window, staring outside at the garden.

‎"This place is too big to just sit around doing nothing," Cloud said.

‎Ray nodded slightly. "Yeah."

‎After a few minutes of awkward silence, Cloud stood up suddenly. "Let's make a schedule."

‎"A schedule?" Ray asked.

‎"Yes. If we're going to be alone here, we should have things to do. Otherwise, we'll just get bored or lazy."

‎Ray thought for a moment, then agreed. "Alright."

‎They went to the dining table and grabbed papers, pens, and a marker board. Together, they started planning.

‎They wrote down simple daily activities: morning workouts in the garden, study time for schoolwork, cooking practice in the kitchen, cleaning duties, and evening walks around the estate. Cloud added fun sections like "music time," "movie nights," and "exploring the mansion secrets."

‎Ray raised an eyebrow. "Secrets?"

‎Cloud grinned. "Every big house has secrets."

‎Ray shook his head slightly but didn't argue.

‎By the time they finished, they had created a full routine for themselves starting the next day.

‎That night, for the first time, the mansion didn't feel empty.

‎The next day after school, they followed their plan loosely but didn't stick to it fully. Instead, they decided to go for a walk outside the estate. The air was fresh, and the road around the mansion was quiet.

‎They laughed more easily now. Cloud teased Ray about his serious face, and Ray responded with small jokes he didn't usually make. Along the way, they met a few of Cloud's friends from school, who greeted them warmly. Ray also began to connect with some of them, slowly becoming more comfortable in his new life.

‎They returned home earlier than expected, before Cally could even find out they had gone out. The mansion remained peaceful, and everything seemed normal.

‎Days passed like this.

‎In their free time, Ray and Cloud did many things together. They trained in the garden to stay active, sometimes turning it into playful competitions. They cooked meals together, often laughing when something went wrong. They watched movies late at night in the living room, arguing about scenes and characters. Sometimes they explored unused parts of the mansion, pretending they were discovering ancient secrets hidden in the walls. Other times, they simply sat outside under the stars, talking about school, life, and small dreams they had never shared with anyone before.

‎Slowly, a bond began forming between them. It wasn't just friendship anymore—it was something deeper, though neither of them fully understood it yet.

‎One evening, everything changed.

‎They were inside the training room in the mansion, practicing lightly as part of their routine. Cloud moved forward playfully, attempting to tap Ray's shoulder. Ray dodged instinctively and responded with a quick counter-move.

‎For a moment, it felt like normal fun.

‎But something shifted.

‎Their movements became sharper. Faster. More intense.

‎Cloud blocked one of Ray's strikes, her eyes narrowing slightly. Ray stepped back, adjusting his stance, his instincts reacting in ways even he didn't understand.

‎Then, suddenly, their eyes locked.

‎The room fell silent.

‎The playful energy disappeared instantly.

‎Only silence remained.

‎No words.

‎Just staring.

‎Cloud's breathing slowed. Ray didn't move.

‎For a few seconds, it felt like time itself had stopped. Something unspoken passed between them—confusion, tension, and something dangerously close to recognition of power they had not yet learned to control.

‎Cloud's hand lowered slowly. Ray did the same.

‎Neither of them spoke.

‎Because in that moment, they both understood something without saying it.

‎This wasn't just training anymore
