Prologue

A 17-year-old young man was walking on the street, with his torn clothes and dirty body, looking like a beggar.

Flashback

"The young man is Kael. Kael came from a poor family with terrible parents. His father was a gambler and always drunk. Whenever he lost in gambling, he would hurt Kael. His mother was also a gambler and didn't care about him or what was happening to him, so he ran away."

Now, days later, he was walking the streets, not knowing what to do with his life, always begging for money. Sometimes, he only earned a small amount enough to buy bread to fill his stomach.

While walking, Kael found a rock. It was very black, and out of curiosity, he picked it up.

"Uhmm, what is this?"

Immediately, Kael felt the stoppage of time, and the people around him and everything seemed to freeze.

"W-what happened?!" he said, shocked and nervous.

While Kael was nervous, he quickly looked at the rock and dropped it. The world around him returned to normal, and he noticed that people were moving again. However, he realized the rock had broken and everything suddenly turned dark.

"A-what... what is really happening??" Kael said, looking around. He noticed a light and quickly ran toward it, reaching the entrance of the light. As soon as he stepped inside, he was blinded by the brightness. When he opened his eyes, he found himself in a different place.

"Where am I??"

He said, looking around at what seemed like a forest. There, he saw the bodies of a few people, making him step back in shock and fear.

He noticed their armor, which seemed to be that of knights. He also saw the bloodied bodies of the knights and the swords and spears they were holding.

While Kael was observing the surroundings, trying to figure out what happened, a creature suddenly appeared behind him. Kael noticed it due to the noise it made, but he couldn't avoid it, and he was struck by the creature's attack, sending him flying into a tree. He spat out blood.

"Arrgh"

Before he could recover, Kael saw a wild boar charging at him, its eyes glowing red.

"Damn, I need to get out of this situation!"

Despite his weakness, Kael quickly stood up and ran. As he ran, the boar's body crashed into a tree.

Kael was stunned by the boar's strength, as the boar knocked the tree down with just one hit. Quickly, Kael grabbed one of the knight's swords.

"Damn, this sword is heavy."

Though struggling with the weight, Kael managed to lift the sword. After a few minutes, he noticed the sword lightened and saw dark smoke enveloping his body. When he saw the boar charging at him again, he prepared the sword. As the boar got closer, Kael suddenly vanished, leaving only the black smoke behind.

He appeared behind the boar and swung the sword, cutting the boar in half. After the boar died, the black smoke dissipated from Kael's body, and he fainted.

A few minutes later, Kael lay on the ground unconscious when a woman appeared and noticed him. It was clear she was a knight, and behind her were many soldiers.

"Young lady, it looks like this young man is still alive."

A soldier approached Kael's body to check on him.

Hearing this, the woman walked up to the young man and touched him, causing a system to appear.

"Teet"

"Please provide information on this young man."

"Teet"

"System: This young man comes from a world called Earth. He is 17 years old and human."

"Huh? Earth? That's where I lived before being reincarnated into this world," the woman whispered.

Once the system provided no more information, the woman stood up.

"Take this young man."

She ordered, and the surroundings trembled. Suddenly, many wild boars charged toward them.

"Young lady, there are too many of them. There must be at least a hundred."

A knight behind the young lady said.

Hearing this, the young lady quickly drew her sword, which began to glow.

"Teet"

"System: The 'light sword' skill is now activated."

The young lady's sword glowed brightly as she charged toward the wild boars.

She immediately attacked the first boar, crushing its body with a single strike. She did the same to the others.

"System: +1 point +1 point. You now have 54 points. You can unlock a skill."

Upon hearing this, the young lady smiled. She pressed the skill "White Slash," and the sword glowed even brighter. This made all the wild boars stop in their tracks.

The young lady raised her glowing sword.

"WHITE SLASH!"

When she shouted the skill, she swung the sword down, and a powerful light exploded.

A few minutes later, after the light disappeared, the knights saw the massive damage. The trees were shattered, and lava remained where the white slash had hit.

3 Days Later

Kael woke up in a luxurious room. He quickly looked around and noticed the large size of the room.

"Uh, where am I?"

He said, slowly standing up from the bed. As soon as he stood, the door opened, and a beautiful woman walked in.

"I'm glad you're awake. You've been unconscious for a few days."

The woman said, walking closer to Kael.

"What's your name?"

Kael took a step back, sensing her presence.

"Uh... Kael Dreadmoor is my name."

Kael replied nervously, especially since he noticed the woman's glowing sword.

"Oh, that's a nice name. I'm Lyra Virellane."

Lyra paused when she noticed Kael feeling her presence.

"Ah… Sorry, I thought you were just a normal person from Earth."

Kael was shocked when he heard about Earth.

"W-what do you mean by Earth? So, this isn't Earth?"

Lyra smiled at Kael's confusion.

"That's right... I'm from Earth as well. I died in an accident and was reborn in this world."

Kael was taken aback.

"So, you died in Earth and were born into this world?"

Lyra nodded and said, "Yes, that's right. Why do you ask? Shouldn't you have been reincarnated here too?"

Kael shook his head.

"I wasn't reincarnated. I just touched a rock and ended up here."

Lyra was surprised.

"A rock? Where did you find it?"

Kael answered, "I found it on the road. And how did you know I was from Earth?"

Lyra paused but quickly came up with an explanation.

"I just noticed from your appearance and the clothes you were wearing."

Kael stopped and looked at his clothes, realizing they were different now.

When Lyra saw Kael's surprise at his new clothes, she said, "Don't worry. Many people from noble families wear similar clothes in this world. Come, let's go outside."

She walked toward the door, and Kael followed her. As they walked, they met some maids.

"Wait, are you a noble?"

Kael asked.

"Yes, I'm a princess in this kingdom."

They entered a room where Kael saw a strange map.

"This map was created by someone from Earth who also ended up in this world."

Kael examined the map and asked, "How did that person end up here?"

Lyra explained, "They crossed a vast snowfield. According to them, they traveled with a group of scientists in advanced vehicles for 15 years before they reached this world."

Kael asked, "Where is that person now?"

Lyra responded, "They're dead."

Kael was shocked.

"W-what? They're dead?"

Lyra nodded, "Yes. Some of their companions died due to the cold and attacks by various monsters they had never seen before."

Lyra pointed to the map and said, "This is why I created this map. I came up with a theory about 'Beyond the Ice Wall.' I saw something similar on social media when I was still on Earth."

Lyra pointed to the map with two holes: one showing Earth and the other showing Artia.

"I compared this with Earth and Artia. Artia is the world we're in now, and the barrier between them is the Ice Wall."

Kael was stunned by what he heard.

"So, the world we came from is connected to this world?"

Lyra corrected him, saying, "You're mistaken. These two worlds are separate dimensions and realms. They have their own laws, time, and power. In this world, the power source is called mana."

Kael was confused. "Mana?"

"Yes, mana is the source of power. Have you noticed any powers in your body?"

Kael remembered something.

"Uh... Yes, when the wild boar attacked me, I felt a surge of power, and I moved so fast. I even had the ability to hide in the shadows."

Lyra was intrigued.

"Shadows? What do you call that power?"

Kael answered, "Uh, I'm not sure. I'm new to this world."

Lyra smiled and thought of something.

"Would you like to travel with me through this world?"

Kael was surprised by the offer.

"Uh, what journey?"

"Yes, let's travel and explore the mysteries. My plan is to get stronger, Kael. Since we both came from Earth, you're the only one I can trust and understand. So, will you join me on this journey?"

After thinking for a few minutes, Kael finally made a decision.

"Yes, I'll join you."
