Kathryna was stunned to the marrow at what Felix had just said. For a moment, her jaw dropped, and she stared at him with wide, disbelieving eyes.
That wasn't the plan.
The plan was for him to convince the board of directors why they needed to appoint a new CEO, and what effects Anna's arrest was having on the company's stock.
But the man before her wasn't following the plan. He seemed to be threatening her openly.
Before she could say a word to remind him why he was there, Felix placed a thick folder on the polished conference table, sliding it toward her with deliberate ease.
"Check that," he said, his face unreadable. She couldn't tell what he was doing or what he was about to do.
Kathryna sank slowly into her chair, her legs weakening under the weight of dread. Her gaze flicked to the folder, and she furrowed her brows.
The folder looked familiar. Just like the folder she had kept in her briefcase before coming here.
