Anna was also shocked at what she had just blurted out.

She hadn't planned to say it. In fact, she hadn't even thought it out loud until now. But somehow, it had burst from her like a truth she could no longer swallow. Her heart had always known, something about being with Aidan made her feel different. She enjoyed his company in ways she couldn't quite explain, and she always craved his presence.
Everything with him was so different.
She'd admitted silently to herself that she was falling heads over heels but never in her wildest dream had she imagined confessing to a man suddenly that she loved him.

She had no idea what had come over her. Perhaps, it was the rush of adrenaline at the thought of watching him leave. Or maybe it was the terrifying thought of how lonely and empty her life would be without him.
She didn't know why and she didn't care.
All she wanted was for him to stay.
