Chapter 14 - (Sort of) Q&A for the Story

Notes: Well, hello there! And before I begin, I must say one thing - it isn't necessary to read my plans for Act 2, I just wanted to elaborate on what to expect for Act 2 and entire story. My friend asked my those questions so here we go!

Questions

1. How long Act 2 will be?

Around 15 - 16 chapters, though the number may change. I originally planned to be much merged with Act 1 but I scraped that idea due to stylistic choices (though I don't see myself as an expert in that area, I still have a long way to go). There're going to be 2 Interlude Chapters, in similar manner as Chapter 7.5 - Courage of the Cat.

2. What will you focus on in Act 2?

In my original layout I wanted new additions to the team, but I immediately scraped it. Now, I want to flesh out more on the bonds between Iris, Kouji, Shouto and Izuku. But my focus is going to be Iris and Shouto + Kouji and Izuku. Those duos are what I had this entire time on the back of my mind. I'll try my best to develop chemistry between Shouto and Iris, believe me I have big plans for these two.

3. When you will introduce the Resistance?

In the middle of Act 2 - the first part of this Act will resolve around the vigilantism and strengthening the bonds between our MC's. Timeline wise it's going be a year and a half after Shouto, Iris and Izuku got transported to the past. I think it would be too early to introduce a threat like AFO just few months after the beginning of the story.

4. How do you want to write the Resistance?

It took me a while to get there, but after rereading Deku's Vigilante Arc in the manga, I want to for them to be overall good guys but forced to make morally gray or even quite "villainous" choices. It would paint quite a picture based on what we know on the Resistance from Bruce and Kudo from the original manga. Kudo even said that he had to spill a lot of blood just to get a chance to defeat AFO, so I think this idea will do.

5. Spoiler: Why did you make the Vigilante Network connected to the Resistance?

When I finished reading the original manga, I found it sad that the Resistance didn't leave some form of legacy even after it was eventually crushed by AFO. Then I got the idea about the Vigilante Network and made it a legacy of the Resistance.

BIG SPOILER:

Around when Hikage was the wielder of OFA, and the Resistance was gone as a movement, the leftovers of the organization wanted to continue it's work but in different way. To honor the Resistance's legacy, the Vigilante Network was created and it got popular in the Underground around when Banjo was the OFA's holder.

END OF THE SPOILER

6. What do you have planned for the main cast (without spoilers)?

Lots of stuff, more angst incoming so be prepared - and sadly yes, I'll be forced to use the Major Character Death Warning since Act 3. I'm not good with writing emotional scenes or sequences, as I myself have many issues to understand my feelings but I'll try my best. And please, forgive me for mispellings or missing words bc I'm dyslectic and English isn't my mother's tongue. With Act 2 I won't focus on the character death part yet.

7. Do you have already an ending in mind? Is it a sad or a happy ending?

I already had the ending in my mind when I was writing Chapter 8. Of course, it may change depending on how the story will progress but I think the overall layout will remain the same. It's going to be a bittersweet ending though I want for the finale to end with a positive note, bringing hope for the better future.

8. Do you have plans for sequels, prequels or spin offs?

Prequel won't come out until I finish "The Daylight" and there still a long way to go. But yes, I have plans for the prequels, specifically about one OOC from the Resistance that will have a key role during Acts 3 & 4.

Sequel however is a difficult topic, because with my ending in mind, truthfully it would be quite troubling to even attempt at writing it. However, I'm not saying no, just that I'm still super unsure about it.

But I'm open to any concepts of spin offs to the Daylightverse and yes, I'll be writing one over the course of my main fic. With "The Nameless" put on hold, the next fic (the spin off) is going to be titled "The Starlight", focusing on the BNHA's main storyline after our crew disappeared so stay tuned!

Author Notes outside Q&A.

Now with this small Q&A over, I want to give small descriptions of each Act of the story and my small writer notes as an addition the whole thing. So you, my dear reader, can know what to expect without spoilers.

Act II - Admists Riddles

The first part resolves around the main cast bonds and the vigilantism. The second part however will have a small time skip and briefly introduce us to the Resistance.

Act III - Violence is Necessary for Change

This act however will focus on the Resistances characters and the first holders of OFA - Yoichi, Kudo and Bruce. It's happening before Yoichi is locked up inside the vault and way before he gets the stockpile Quirk. Iris and Shouto will mostly play the role in this Act, wil Izuku and Kouji having their own Arc.

Act IV - Strangers in Strange Land

The War Arc that will last till the very end of Act VI. It doesn't seem long but trust me, starting from this point on, Acts will have around 20 - 25 Chapters. Yeah, it's going to be a wild ride with Major Character Death warning included.

Act V - Marigold

Now, this part is where I have many doubts on. Why? Because of two things - first, I'll try with writing smut here bc the bonds are going to be strongly established by that point. And that's where my anxiety comes to swoop in since I have literally no experience in writing in smut and I'm super afraid of this being cringey or even gross. Second, is because the other segment of this Arc is going to be dedicated purely to flashbacks. I want to keep the timeline consistent but I'm already freaked out on this being too overly complicated to follow. But that's in the distant future.

Act VI - Masquerade of Mimes

Pretty much the ending of the War Arc and a big time skip included (at the end of this Act, 8 years skip). There will be many chapters in this Act are going to be headache bc I already laid out the trauma impact on the main cast due to the war horrors they saw and the losses they went through. But to properly execute the whole is another thing. Yeah I already see myself rewriting the segments with trauma included over 15 times. What can I say, I'm a masochist <3.

Act VII - Tough Times Need Tough Measures

Now this Act is going to be tough, because we'll deal with aftermath of this whole thing and our cast will get considerably smaller. This Act won't be this long, counting around 13 - 14 Chapters along with one interlude. Act VII will serve as a sort of a breather, before shit hits the fan. Angst will come in form of trauma/recovery along with fact that our crew will start living around times with Hikage in hiding (on which we know nothing about). But on the positive note, this is where the Comfort tag will start to shine brightly (though overlapped with the Angst).

Act VIII (Finale) - Let Us Dance One Last Time

The Finale of the entire story. It's quite strange thinking about the end of the Daylight when, Act 2 is just about to start. This is when shit hits the fan, many plot points are resolved and questions are anwsered - and I'm going to fully utilize the Major Character Death warning. And also a bit of warning - by that point I won't stick to the cannon at all. With "The Daylight" I literally cannot stick to the cannon storyline wise. But here the warning is more about the lore, because many original stuff is going to drop. So yeah, heads up!

Epilogue - May the Stars Shine Brightly

It will serve more like an extended epilogue to the Act VIII - it will have around 6 - 8 Chapters for the closure purposes, which is why I said that it would be quite hard for "The Daylight" to get a sequel with the same main cast. Anyways, for each character/relationship 2 Chapters are going to be dedicated and with this the story will reach it's conclusion (dammit I already feel my eyes getting watery just from thinking about it).

And that's where the Q&A + My Writing Notes reach its end - thanks for reading (rlly, I appreciate it).
