Chapter 47 - To Be A Hero: Ch.47

"Please, repeat what you just said," S'turnn spoke with a frown, the other B'lahdenn and G'arrunn looking insulted by my words as I smiled.

"It's not hard to understand. Rescind the caste system you have and make all Martians equal in terms of societal stature," I reiterated, shrugging when I saw the glares from the other Martians. "I know that the A'ashenn are the minority so you would not even have the worry about them causing a rebellion. That is unless you push them into one."

"Doing so would lead to anarchy and disarray caused by the other Martians."

"Oh, I thought my requests were to be fulfilled no matter what?" I asked, raising an eyebrow as King S'turnn grimaced. "That is what you promised me for when I defeat Mongul, was it not? That every request I had would be heard and taken care of."

"It is and I truly wish to do it, but I have to think about the many instead of the few."

"I am thinking of the many, King J'axx," I replied, making him pause as I continued. "The 'many' that you refer to are just the ones in power and not the population as a whole. What of the G'arrunn who are oppressed for having A'ashenn relatives? What of the A'ashenn who are pushed away by their relatives simply because of their skin colour?

When will you decide to be a king and see the suffering that your subjects are undergoing?"

"You speak boldly for a fool that does not understand this matter!" A G'arrunn snapped and I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Oh, I will not pretend that I understand your dilemma, but what I do know is that you divide your population by skin colour and then justify it by calling it tradition. Believe me, Earth has the same issues and yet they still find ways to work together in some way or form. Sure it isn't perfect, but it works."

"Even if I did agree, the other nobles would never accept this."

"Let me stop you right there. I do not need the approval of the Council. All I need is you, S'turnn," I replied, walking closer with a smile. "You made the promise and you can do away with it. I saved your planet from extermination. All I ask is that you and your fellow B'lahdenn stop treating everyone like dirt."

"This...this will cause upheaval," he replied and I chuckled, his gaze moving to my hand as I raised it.

"I know and I'm willing to help you achieve it. The question is whether or not you will let me. What will it be?"

"Think of the stability of our society, sire."

"This Earthling had a fractured mind when he arrived. Perhaps, parts of his mind is still scattered."

"Yes, and this is something that is at least worth two request, not just a single one," I didn't care for the whispered words of the B'lahdenn council members as I kept my hand up, S'turnn looking at me before I grinned as the man shook it.

"If we do this, it's going to take some time. Overnight upheaval will destabilize the entire planet."

"Oh, I know, which is what brings me to the next step," I replied, turning and pointing at Mongul's spaceship floating in the air. It was covered in dents and gashes made by the shockwaves and rubble of Mongul and I's clash, but it still seemed fully operational.

"What are we going to do with that?"

"Simple, King S'turnn. Do you have a way to connect its transmission system to drones that we will scatter around the planet? You have an announcement to make."

"Very well. I will put my best on this."

"Sire, we must protest tha-"

"No!" King S'turnn shouted, making his council pause as the Martian King shook his head. "No, Chris is correct. If I simply ignore those below me, can I truly call myself a ruler? Chris, we shall return within the hour."

"I shall have everything prepared by then," I nodded, watching as the king left with his guards before gesturing to M'gann.

"Follow them. I fear that the king might have an unforeseen accident that can be blamed on us."

"You're sure?" she asked and I gave a helpless shrug in turn. "Right. I'll go."

"We'll prepare up here. Dub, you want to move Genomorph City to the Warworld or stay here on the planet?"

"After the exchange right now, we would be more than happy to come with."

"Cool, I'll come with and put her on the ship too," Match spoke up, holding Koriand'r in his arms as I nodded before turning to our final member.

"Rae, you wanna help me or them?"

"Depends. Which one would be less dangerous?"

"Their job."

"Wait, what are you going to do?" Match asked and I just smirked, looking up at the Warworld looming beside Mars' moons.

"Simple, it's time for the Warworld to be known as something else."

"Testing! Testing! Is this on?" Chris' voice echoed through the many drones across Mars, its inhabitants staring at the drones with confused stares.

Moments later, many holographic projections were activated and Chris grinned as he waved at the camera.

"I believe it is on, Chris," King S'turnn's raspy voice spoke up from beside him and Chris' laughter echoed behind the mic.

"Oh, good! Then, I won't waste any of your time then! Listen closely, Martians of...well, Mars. As you all have noticed the large artificial moon floating above the planet, you are wondering what this means for you all."

"Therefore, we shall make it simple. Today, we stand at a crossroads. For centuries, we have lived under a caste system that has defined us for whom we are, but no more."

"From today onwards and until such a time where the king feels like it's no longer needed, it is abolished!" Chris' declaration drew immediate cries of outrage from the B'lahdenn and most of the G'arrunn, but there were some G'arrunn along with the A'ashenn who looked hopeful as their king nodded.

"We understand that many of you of the higher echelon would disagree with this so if you have a problem with it, know that the moon above comes with tens of thousands of guns and I am not afraid to use them," Chris replied, the outraged voices immediately going silent as they all paused.

"Please do not threaten my people."

"People don't learn until you show them the carrot and the stick," Chris responded, taking a step to the side as King 'Sturnn took over.

"It is a big change to ask of you all, but I will ask you all this in turn. Would you rather have the monster that was previously control of the Warworld to burn Mars to its last atom or this?

We shall restructure our institutions, our education, our military and...our council," Now, the B'lahdenn looked incensed and Chris smirked as King S'turnn narrowed his eyes.

"For too long, Mars has gone without actual representatives to tell us of how life is for the A'ashenn and G'arrunn. Now, we shall ask of you all to choose three representatives for each race.

However, as I am a fair king, we shall take this into voting. If you are in agreement, raise your hand now," Chris was not surprised when only the A'ashenn and the few G'arrunn who acknowledges the A'ashenn members of their families raised their hands.

"As we expected. What of those who don't agree?" Chris asked and King S'turnn sighed as millions of red and green clawed hands were raised. "Well, I told you this would happen."

"I will give you all one more chance to please change your minds. See not the colour of the Martian that stands beside you. Instead, see your fellow Martian as they are, nothing more and nothing less than what you are. Therefore, please, all in favour?"

"...Yep, thought so," Chris's voice echoed across the mic, watching as the results repeated themselves. Sure, there were a few new G'arrunn that looked hesitant to join in, but the results didn't matter when the outcome was 90: 10. "Well, King S'turnn, may I proceed with my plan then?"

"Yes, proceed," King S'turnn murmured in a disappointed tone, shaking his head with a sigh as Chris took the front yet again.

"Okay. Well, I was hoping I was wrong since S'turnn here placed a lot of trust into you all, but since you decided to throw away his trust, here's what's going to happen.

All of the A'ashenn and G'arrunn that voted for, you will be sent protection and transport to pick-up sites. From those sites, you will be transported to the new 'Unity Sphere' above where you shall be allowed to live out your lives as you please."

Chris smiled at the excitement from the A'ashenn and G'arrunn that had heard that before narrowing his eyes when he saw the angered looks of the other Martians.

"Oh, and for the Martians that disagree and don't want them to go-" The transmission turned off and back on again, now focused on the Warworld/ Unity Sphere itself.

Thousands of precision railguns were aimed at the planet and the Martians that voted against gasped at the red dots on their foreheads.

"What is aimed at you all right now are non-lethal, inter-planetary, hyper-precision railguns calibrated to knock out targets within a seven nanometer margin of error," Despite his confident, calm tone, Chris himself was surprised at the fact that the Warworld knew exactly what weapon he needed to take care of threats non-lethally.

Guess that's just one of the wonders of it.

"Before anyone panics, I'm not going to figure it at you just yet. If I wanted that, I would have just let Mongul do it for me. This is me giving you all time to get used to the new laws and ideas before they come back.

Of course, if the A'ashenn or G'arrunn do not wish to board the Unity Sphere, they are more than welcome to stay on Mars. I will neither force you nor try to persuade you to join other than saying that all Martians on board will be treated equally. Do you have anything else to say, S'turnn?"

"No. My people, you all may not love it and you may hate me for what I did, but know that from this day forth, Mars will evolve and it will change. Thank you."

"So, how bad do you think the outcome will be?" M'gann asked as she stood beside me, back in her pale-skinned human form. Both her and myself along with Raven stood in the control centre of the WarWorld.

In front of us was the panoramic viewing port, my gaze moving between the dozens of spaceships slowly moving towards the Warworld.

"Hopefully, they won't take long to get used to the new system, but I wouldn't put it past the B'lahdenn to take a long while before they allow G'arrunn and A'ashenn to have the same rights as they do."

"Realistically though, there will be riots and mass panic amongst those that stayed. We should prepare for those," Raven replied and I nodded as M'gann sighed.

"Mars isn't used to big changes. Everything on it is slow and you just cut a pillar out from underneath them."

"A rotten pillar that needed to go," I replied, wrapping an arm around M'gann as I saw the troubled look in her eyes. "Hey, they'll adjust and if they don't, they'll just pretend until they eventually do. That's how politics usually work."

"No, that's manipulation."

"What is politics if not manipulation?" I asked, Raven having a faint smirk on her face as M'gann sighed.

"I can feel the A'ashenn and G'arrunn on the ship. They feel relieved and excited, but also scared. Some are saying that this might just be a trap to get rid of them."

"Then, you'll have to go and convince them otherwise, right?"

"M-Me?" M'gann asked and I nodded as I kissed her temple with a smile.

"Yes, you. You're the closest to me, but also a A'ashenn that can emphasize with them."

"Fine, but where exactly are we going to go with this? Also, the Warworld isn't exactly the best living environment," Raven replied and I scoffed as I walked over to the control throne.

With a groan, I sat down on it and immediately felt my link to the Warworld strengthening tenfold.

"It isn't, but the thing about the Warworld is that while it has a lot of weapons, it is also a technological world so with a thought..." My mind connected to the entire artificial moon as I took control of the central area.

A deep vibration echoed through the throne rooms as the lights dimmed. Then, they brightened into a sparkling gold, panels rearranging and twisting into new forms as the entire superstructure moved into something new.

"U-Uh, Chris. What are you doing?"

"Like I said, a whole new world," I replied, giving the finishing touches before letting out a soft sigh as I finished rearranging the internal structure of the moon.

With a smirk, the panels below our feet opened and allowed us to peer through the solid glass, Raven raising an eyebrow while M'gann gasped at the structure below.

A sparkling blue sky shone onto a vast landscape, numerous lights substituting for the sun as vibrant soil had many luminous plants growing from them.

Along with said landscape were dozens of houses, the A'ashenn surprised at their new homes before they looked up as I spoke,

"A'ashenn, G'arrunn! Enjoy your new home away from home!" I declared, adjusting the concentration of the air inside to fit that of the underground of Mars.

"You...you just made a bio-sphere...in seconds," Raven whispered and I smirked as I cracked my neck.

"Unity Sphere, remember? And we're not done," I replied, closing my eyes and focusing on the exterior of the planet this time.

The Warworld/ Unity Sphere responded as various energy barriers and shields formed sectioned districts on the surface as well as breathing pockets of air where people could observe space from.

Unused panels cracked back and formed various attractions like theme parks and zoos, a sigh escaping my lips as I finished the final adjustments.

"With that, the first phase of renovating the Warworld into the Unity Sphere is done."

"...Great. Now what?"

"Not impressed."

"I am. I'm just ignoring it because my mind can't take anymore," Raven replied and I chuckled, closing back up the floor panels before the Warworld turned.

"Right now, we've fixed my mind, saved Mars and got some new people to join our little crew."

"That means we've accomplished our objectives. Does that mean we're going back?" M'gann asked, a smile of anticipation on her face as I nodded.

"Yes, M'gann. We're going back."

"He's failed," a voice echoed from the monitor and Vandal Savage just stared at the screen.

"Mongul?"

"Yes, he failed and Project Krypton now has the Warworld under his control."

"Then, he has not failed. The clone will come back to Earth to 'clear his name', but in doing so, he will also bring the Warworld to us."

"Then, how will you get it?" the raspy voice asked and Vandal smirked as he shook his head.

"I won't get it back. Someone will do it for me."

"Who?"

"Someone who calls himself The Main Man."
