Chapter 17 - HIDDEN QUEST

Chapter 17

Solomon had offered to buy the item for her—the very thing her boyfriend had flatly refused to get. And clearly, based on the longing in her eyes, she truly wanted it.

Deadly glares were being sent his way.

Solomon could practically feel the boyfriend's eyes burning into his skin, radiating pure hostility. He responded with nothing more than a slight, enigmatic smile.

For some reason, the other guy took that smile as a personal insult—or worse, a direct challenge. He continued to glare, his chest heaving as if daring Solomon to push him further.

Solomon ignored him completely. He simply turned and purchased the handbag for the girl from a small, hourly pop-up shop nearby.

He swiped his card, transferring the full amount to the seller without a second thought.

The system chimed in his mind. Solomon glanced at the figure and sighed internally. Still not enough. I need to move more volume.

He was so lost in his mental calculations that he barely noticed the blur of movement coming at his head—until his instincts took over. He turned his torso sharply, feeling the rush of air as a fist whistled past his ear.

A punch. The boyfriend had actually swung at him.

Solomon moved effortlessly, resetting his stance and evading the follow-up with practiced ease.

"Little brother, why are you so angry?" Solomon asked, a playful, mocking smile dancing on his lips. "Are you jealous? Do you want me to buy something for you, too?"

The veins on the boy's forehead bulged dangerously. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?! Who said I wanted you to buy me anything?!"

He charged again, his breathing heavy and ragged. But Solomon saw every move coming before it even started. He dodged them all—smooth, effortless shifts of his weight that left his attacker hitting nothing but air.

"I'm serious," Solomon said casually, stepping around a clumsy hook. "Name anything expensive. I'll get it for you."

The boy didn't buy it at first. He threw several more strikes, all of which Solomon bypassed with focused, predatory grace.

"I'm not joking," Solomon added, his voice dropping to a serious tone. "Name it. Even if it's over $100,000—I'll get it for you right now."

The boy paused mid-attack, hesitating as he searched Solomon's face. Suspicion flickered in his eyes, warring with a sudden, desperate greed. "Are you sure?" he asked, narrowing his eyes. "You're really going to buy me whatever I want?"

Solomon didn't flinch. He simply nodded, calm and unbothered by the absurdity of the situation.

"Okay then," the boy said, his voice firming up. "I want the latest RAE-7. It just hit the market. Will you really get it for me?"

He stared at Solomon, waiting for the punchline, convinced this was either a cruel bluff or a elaborate scam. Solomon, however, just smiled inwardly. Perfect. More money to move. This is a win for me.

"Alright," he said with a slight smirk. "Let's go to the dealership. I'll buy it for you."

The boy stood there, stunned into silence.

He didn't know what to believe—was Solomon insane, or was he really about to drop serious cash on a stranger? Still in disbelief, the boy began walking beside Solomon, leading the way toward the local dealership.

Meanwhile, his girlfriend stood off to the side, frozen in shock. She watched the entire scene unfold with wide eyes. She had expected to witness two boys brawling over her affection. Instead, her boyfriend had run off with a random guy just because he'd offered him a car.

It was news worth sharing. Solomon, focused on his mission, had no idea she now believed he had literally stolen her boyfriend away from her.

When they arrived at the dealership, the first staff member they encountered raised a skeptical eyebrow. They both looked like typical students, and the man didn't even try to hide his disdain.

"What business do two students have here?" the man asked, eyeing their casual clothes with doubt.

Solomon sensed it immediately—the familiar sting of being underestimated. The man clearly assumed Solomon couldn't afford a hubcap, let alone a vehicle. But it was the boyfriend who spoke up first.

"He's here to buy me a car," the boy said, pointing at Solomon. "The newest model—the one that just arrived."

The salesperson blinked, taken aback, then let out a frustrated huff. "Students, if you're here to pull a prank, please leave. We don't have time for jokes."

"I'd prefer not to buy a car from you,"

Solomon interrupted, his voice laced with a cold arrogance. "I'd like to speak with someone else."

In places like this, commissions were everything. Solomon had no interest in rewarding someone who judged a person's worth by their cover. Another salesperson, noticing the tension, quickly hurried over.

"Good afternoon, young man. I can certainly assist you," the man said, sounding far more eager. "Just name the model, and I'll show you what we have in stock."

Solomon nodded, studying the new man. He was polite and professional. Solomon accepted the offer and followed him toward the luxury display.

The boy's eyes lit up the moment he spotted the model of his dreams. He rushed over, running his hand across the glossy, metallic surface, nearly kissing the hood in excitement. He turned back to Solomon with a frantic, toothy grin.

"This is it! This is the one! You said you'd get it... will you really?"

Solomon looked at the boy, then signaled the salesperson. When the man brought the mobile payment terminal, Solomon casually swiped his card.

The machine beeped—Approved—instantly. The seller froze, his jaw dropping. He hadn't expected the kid to actually have that kind of liquidity.

Turning to the boy, the seller stammered, "This car is yours now. The transaction is complete. You can take delivery immediately."

The boy stood there for a second, mouth agape, staring at Solomon as if he were a god. Then, he suddenly lunged forward, dropping to his knees to kiss Solomon's shoes.

Solomon shifted his leg, signaling for him to stop. "Get up."

The boy scrambled to his feet, his face flushed with joy. "Thank you so much! You actually did it! I thought for sure you were kidding!"

Solomon gave a small, tired smile. "No problem. I keep my promises."

They left the dealership together, the boy driving his brand-new RAE-7 back to campus with Solomon sitting quietly in the back seat. When they pulled up to the school, the girlfriend, who had been watching from the roof of a nearby building, spotted the flash of the new car. She rushed down, arriving just as they stepped out.

She was speechless. "Who... who bought you this?"

The boy grinned, leaning against the door. "Solomon did."

The girl felt a sharp pang of jealousy. He had bought her a handbag, sure, but he'd bought this guy an entire car. What kind of wealthy master was this guy?

Solomon didn't waste a single second. Over the next half-hour, he moved money with the speed of a professional trader. He finalized donations to three more orphanages, purchased a bulk shipment of medical supplies for the hospital that had saved Laura, and prepaid the tuition for a dozen struggling D-Class students. Each transaction triggered a fresh wave of cashback. By the time the clock struck zero, his wallet had swelled past fifty million dollars—and the system's global player counter had dropped by another three.
