Chapter 24 - [24] A Name Etched in Blood and Silence

After another chaotic meeting full of noise and nonsense,

Makima's patience ran thin. Her eyes narrowed with quiet fury.

Saiki, glancing up from his coffee jelly, gave a single warning: "She's mad."

Kazuma scoffed, "Obviously."

Makima exhaled and, regaining composure, left to investigate a trail of anomalies. She arrived at a street near the station.

A shattered phone lay on the ground. No one around. She noticed subtle clues—deep scratches along a lamppost, faint cracks in the pavement. Something had happened here. Something precise and violent.

She questioned bystanders. No one saw anything. No one remembered. But then, a man in a suit nervously approached her.

"Excuse me… are you some kind of investigator?"

Makima's gaze hardened. "Yes. Tell me—has anyone close to you disappeared? And now no one else remembers them but you?"

The man's eyes widened. "Exactly. My wife. She left for work… and just never came back. Her family—our friends—they all looked at me like I'd gone insane."

Makima began jotting notes. As the day passed, more people came with eerily similar stories.

Missing loved ones, erased memories—each case uniquely horrifying. As she prepared to leave, she felt a tap on her shoulder. Without hesitation, she spun around, fingers charged with lethal intent.

It was just Shoko.

"Easy there," Shoko said with a crooked smile.

Elsewhere — A Chase Through the Alleyways of Tokyo

Gojo and Suguru were hot on the trail of Yoshikage Kira. Gojo pointed ahead. "There! Turn right!"

They skidded into a narrow alley, only to find it packed with a crowd. Gojo's robes were scratched and torn, his face uncharacteristically serious.

"You really thought you could hide looking like that?" he shouted, drawing attention from onlookers.

Suguru frowned. "Let's not cause a scene. We should move."

Suguru summoned special grade curse rainbow dragon.

As they flew past a rusted incinerator, it suddenly exploded. Suguru's instincts flared.

"It's heat," he warned. "The second bomb reacts to temperature spikes!"

They sprinted away—only to be intercepted by an eerie presence: the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony—Lye.

But before they could react, Suguru's back detonated.

He dropped with a scream.

"YOSHIKAGE KIRA!" Gojo bellowed, fury erupting. "You think I'll let this happen again?!"

His hands moved in precise rhythm.

"Domain Expansion… Infinite Void."

Inside the silence of the void, Gojo felt a presence—something invisible.

Gojo annoyed, spoke. "You know through all my life, there was only 4 things that annoyed me. Toji, Sukuna, Kenjaku, and the higher ups."

Gojo eyes widened. "But you, you manage to piss me off the most."

He couldn't see it, but he could sense it. He aimed carefully and fired:

"Hollow Purple."

Outside, Lye chuckled from a rooftop. "Kukuku… almost got caught in that hell. I'll wait until they're too weak to fight."

An alleyway nearby, Kira panicked.

After I used Bites the Dust, I thought I'd escaped… but this… this is worse than hell.

Why can't my hand move?!

Gojo had dragged Sheer Heart Attack into the gravitational core of the Infinite Void. Kira trembled, trying to pull away—only for half his arm to rupture and vanish in a spray of blood.

Suguru emerged behind him, barely standing. He formed a curse, but collapsed before releasing it. Kira followed seconds later, unconscious from blood loss.

Gojo released the domain, panting.

"Suguru!!" he called out, catching his friend mid-fall.

With trembling fingers, he dialed Saiki.

No answer.

He tried again—this time, Shoko.

"Yo," she said. "I'm with Makima. What's up?"

"Head to Shinjuku. Bring backup. Suguru's bleeding out—Kira too. They're both unconscious."

As he hung up, Gojo exhaled—and froze. Blood dripped from his own chest.

Lye stood behind him, grinning.

"Oops," Lye whispered. "Guess that's game over, Satoru Gojo."

Back with Makima and Shoko

Makima's expression twisted.

"Who was that?" she asked.

Shoko stared at her phone. "Just a wrong number. Let's head back."

But Makima felt something… off. Goosebumps. The first time she'd ever felt an uncanny feeling.

Back at the Island

The team regrouped. Makima filed the missing persons report. Rudeus and Kazuma watched Saiki intently.

Then—

An alarm blared.

Kazuma glanced around. "Where the hell are Gojo and Suguru?"

"No, that's just a timer for Senku. His power conductor is overheating." Saiki said flatly.

Saiki looked up, deadpan. "Who?"

Kazuma blinked. "You're kidding. Gojo. Satoru Gojo."

Saiki stared blankly. "Never heard of him."

Silence fell. Subaru turned to Kazuma—face pale.

"He got him," Kazuma muttered. "He got Gojo too."

"And Shadow," Subaru added, grim.

Kazuma's voice rose. "You sent them to hunt Kira—the second guy. You know, tall, blonde, weirdo—?"

Saiki tilted his head. "Second guy? There was only one who fell out of the rift."

Subaru and Kazuma froze.

"Then where's Suguru?" Kazuma asked in a panicked state.

Saiki responded, standing up. "Suguru went to get food and ID. Since he couldn't inconvenience Makima because she investigated your case."

Saiki pointed at Suguru. "See?"

Textbooks clattered to the floor behind them. Rudeus had dropped them, eyes wide.

"No way," he whispered. "You don't remember Gojo?"

Panic spread. Rudeus stood in disbelief, staring at Suguru—who had just walked in with a bag of fries and an ID badge.

Kazuma rushed over. "Suguru! Where's Gojo?"

Suguru blinked. "Who?"

Rudeus snapped. He lunged, grabbing Suguru by the collar.

"That's bullshit!" he roared. "You don't remember your best friend?! You were assigned together!"

Kazuma and Subaru were stunned.

Rudeus remembers...

Gojo and Kira..

But not Shadow.

Saiki stepped between them, separating the fight. His tone had shifted.

"This is serious."

He sent out a call: everyone, emergency meeting—now.

Subaru, shaken, called Reinhardt.

Rudeus and Suguru stared each other down. One shaking in rage. The other… hiding something. An eerie, uncanny, and unsettling eyes.

Light, watching from the shadows, narrowed his eyes.

Senku noticed Light and said. "The eyes are the windows of the soul." Jokingly

Light thought differently

Suguru's expression wasn't just confused.

It was wrong.

His smile came half a second too late.

Like he was mimicking what he should look like.

End.
