Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: Shadows and Steels

The woman's eyes narrowed as she faced Kane, her voice trembling with both fury and fear. "You're a demon," she hissed, gripping her sword tighter.

Kane's grin never wavered. "Demon, villain—whatever you want to call it. Just don't take too long to admit it."

Without warning, the woman raised her sword high, chanting a divine incantation. A radiant light enveloped the blade, her power now coursing through the sword as it glowed with holy energy.

"Holy Aura!" she shouted.

A brilliant light flared around the sword as she swung it downward, the air around her crackling with divine power. With a swift motion, she formed a barrier, her sword humming with energy.

"Divine Shield!" she called out, and a radiant shield formed in front of her, shimmering with holy light.

Kane's eyes gleamed with anticipation. A demon's grin spread across his face. "Let's test your shield then."

With the speed of a predator, he dashed forward, his footfalls barely a sound as he closed the distance between them.

The woman swung her sword, but Kane was already too fast. He dodged to the side, weaving under the divine light, and aimed a powerful straight punch toward her chest.

But just before it could land, the Divine Shield flared to life, stopping Kane's punch in midair with a loud, radiant clang.

The woman smirked, thinking she had him. But Kane only grinned wider.

"Is that all you've got?" he taunted.

In an instant, Kane launched himself forward, unleashing a barrage of rapid punches. Left, right, left, each strike landing with a force that made the shield crack further with every hit.

Crack!

Crack!

With every punch, the Divine Shield weakened, its holy aura flickering as the barrier buckled under the pressure.

The woman's hands trembled on her sword, but she stood firm, struggling to maintain the shield.

Kane saw his opening.

In one fluid motion, he slapped her breast with a sharp smack, causing her to flinch and stumble back. Her face flushed a deep red, the unexpectedness of the action leaving her momentarily stunned.

"You—!" she began, her voice faltering as she tried to recover her composure.

But before she could react, Kane's foot slammed into her stomach, knocking the breath out of her. She gasped, clutching her midsection as she staggered.

Then, Kane's elbow drove into her ribs, sending her reeling. The woman gritted her teeth, trying to steady herself, but Kane's assault didn't stop.

Another slap to her chest, harder this time, left her in shock. Her breath hitched, and her cheeks reddened, her hands instinctively moving to cover herself, though the damage was done.

"Wha—what do you think you're doing?!" she gasped, flustered, struggling to hide her embarrassment. She glared at him, her body still trembling from the barrage of blows.

Kane's grin widened, eyes glinting with mischief as he watched her reaction. "I'm just making sure you're paying attention," he said, voice mocking.

"Focus," he continued, his tone now more serious. "You're going to need it."

Her chest heaved with the intensity of the fight, her flustered expression still visible. But before she could gather her thoughts, Kane stepped forward. His large hand seized her chin with surprising tenderness, forcing her to look up at him.

"Look at me," he commanded softly, his voice low.

Her face flushed even deeper as their eyes locked. She could feel her heart race, but she didn't break eye contact.

And then, without warning, Kane's fist shot upward in a brutal uppercut. The force of the punch was immense, lifting her off the ground and sending her flying backward, her body crashing into the cobblestones.

She lay there, dazed, her sword slipping from her hand as the world spun around her. Kane stood above her, his grin still wide and unrepentant.

"You wanted a demon," he said coldly, wiping the blood from his lip. "Well, you got one."

The night air was tense as three lady knights emerged from the shadows, their swords drawn with lethal intent. They moved in perfect unison, their armor gleaming under the moonlight as they aimed their blades at Kane, planning a swift downward strike.

Kane, however, wasn't fazed. His grin only widened as he sensed their approach, his eyes flashing with anticipation.

The knights swung their blades down, but before the steel could even make contact, Kane was gone. In an instant, he vanished, leaving only the faintest whisper of air in his wake.

As the knights reeled back, confused by his sudden disappearance, a strange clink echoed through the air. The knights looked down, only to realize their armor—particularly around their torsos—had mysteriously disappeared. The next thing they knew, their chests were exposed, causing them to gasp in shock and instantly cover themselves, their faces turning bright red with embarrassment.

Kane, now standing a few paces away, casually leaned against a stone pillar, his grin widening. "Well, that's a nice unveiling, isn't it?" he said, his tone dripping with playful mockery.

The knights froze, their eyes wide, clearly flustered and unsure how to react. One of them managed to stammer out, "W-What have you done?!"

"Oh, don't look so surprised," Kane replied, his voice full of mischief. "I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. You ladies sure know how to keep a secret, huh?" He laughed, clearly enjoying their discomfort.

They all quickly fumbled to adjust their armor, but the damage was done. Each of them was still flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and fury, struggling to regain their composure.

"Well, it looks like you've been... disarmed," Kane said with a grin, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Is that your best shot? I almost felt the breeze."

The knights, now fully rearmed and with faces flushed with a mix of anger and embarrassment, looked at each other, clearly reconsidering their tactics. Kane watched them, still grinning like a villain who was thoroughly enjoying the moment.

"Should we try this again?" Kane taunted. "Or would you rather call it a day and go change?"

As Kane stood there, enjoying the chaos he'd caused, a commanding voice rang out from the shadows.

"Dragon Crush!"

The air rippled as an immense surge of energy raced toward Kane, intent on overwhelming him with raw force. But Kane, ever the elusive villain, grinned and barely moved—only shifting slightly to the side, effortlessly evading the attack.

However, as he moved, his finger brushed dangerously close to the commander's thigh. This time, the contact was more than accidental, and the commander's reaction was instantaneous.

Her face flushed bright red, and she staggered for a moment, caught off guard by the closeness of the touch. Her normally composed demeanor faltered as she tried to regain her focus, now completely flustered by the proximity.

Kane, never one to miss an opportunity for mischief, couldn't help but chuckle. "Dragon Crush, huh? You'll need better aim than that," he teased, a sly grin curling on his lips as he watched her struggle.

The commander, now trying to refocus, shook her head and steadied herself. "You—!" she began, but the words were lost as she noticed the faint flush on her face. Her composure, usually unshakable, had been thoroughly rattled.

The other knights, witnessing the commander's rare lapse in focus, exchanged uncertain glances, their confidence slightly shaken. Meanwhile, Kane was clearly enjoying the moment, leaning casually against a nearby pillar.

"Such a lovely view, but I think we've gotten off track," Kane remarked, his voice dripping with mock sweetness. "Are we going to keep playing this little game, or should I end it here?"

The commander gritted her teeth, her cheeks still flushed but her resolve returning. She gripped her sword tightly, her eyes narrowing with determination. "You'll regret this," she muttered under her breath, preparing herself for another strike.
