Chapter 194 - Mission Type, Guard Part 2

An intermediate wind enchantment spell.

Draining the air from the enemies' lungs and turning the space around their head vacuum.

Quite complex and not effective for live-combat, but it was the suitable way to kill the guards without having them scream. We did not want to attract attention after all.

"Take their bodies inside the storehouse. We can't let them remain out here and risk being discovered."

I ordered my comrades.

The three of them then quickly pulled the corpses toward the back entrance while I unlocked its door with simple telekinesis spell.

"I was hoping they would just pass through quietly after questioning us."

Jonah said as he piled the fifth guard in a corner of the storehouse's first floor.

The entire room was packed with huge shelves filled with fabric bolts and folds of clothes.

Concealed corners where a pile of corpses would be perfectly hidden were aplenty.

I smiled at the shepherd as I locked the backdoor again behind us.

"You should realize it was hopeless the moment you learned they could see us."

Shanny nodded to me.

"The Loro soldiers on the tenth floor could not see us. And they were on our side."

"That's right. So far, the only ones who could see us in the trials had always been our enemies."

Darius added.

"Hopefully the person we're supposed to protect in this mission is exempted from that condition. It would be hard protecting someone who could not sense our presence after all."

I said in the end, throwing my gaze around the storehouse's first floor.

While my comrades were piling the corpses earlier I was already dispensing my detection field throughout the building.

Fortunately, the whole place was empty. Nobody would actually spend the Serpent Festival guarding a clothing storehouse after all.

Though I already prepared a fainting spell should we discover anyone in here. Even if they could not see nor hear us.

Now that I was certain the building was empty, I needed to contact our scout and inform her of the Quintal Trial's development.

"Devisha, as expected, the Jherendal soldiers are our enemies in this mission. Stay within the shadows and proceed carefully."

I told her through the communication blessing.

[Understood. No one has detected my presence so far. I've entered the First Wall district. Making my way toward the Tamelan Square.]

"Alright. Be careful, Devisha."

I disconnected the communication line and turned to my other comrades.

Darius had brought out a small dagger from his belt.

The dagger was radiating with mana. Emanating special waves that only I could detect.

It was the amplifier instrument I prepared earlier in the lobby. The object was similar to the beacon spear on the tenth floor.

We needed it so I could create a dimensional portal to this building.

"Where do you want me to put this?"

Darius asked.

"Jam it on the open floor over there."

I told him, pointing to a moderate clearing in the midst of rows of shelves.

We needed a sufficient space in order to create a dimensional portal.

Darius did as I asked and plunged the beacon dagger to the floor.

At the same time, Jonah and Shanny were pushing some of the storehouse's shelves toward the front entrance, barricading it.

We did want this building to be a safe zone, so we needed to make sure nobody could enter the place.

I joined their effort and began casting simple shield runes on both entrances and the windows I could find on the first floor.

The shield was not that strong since I needed to cast the spell quickly. But it should be enough to keep people from wandering in or some soldiers from breaking through.

If some could, the rune's dispelling would notify me of the breach.

I also added basic enchantment that would prevent sound from escaping the room while still letting soundwave coming from the outside.

That way we would not have to worry of anyone hearing us in this building and noticed our presences, while allowing us to still be aware of what was happening outside the building.

I would also like to secure the windows and possible entrances on the upper floors, but I doubted we had the time.

Devisha would be arriving to the Tamelan Square any second now.

['Devisha (★★★)'s Basic Dagger Technique has levelled up to level 4!]

And considering the notification window just now, she likely had arrived.

[Serafina, I've secured us a spot.]

Speak of the former assassin…

"Understood, Devisha. Stay where you are. We'll be there shortly."

I told her.

I then turned to the rest of my comrades in the storehouse.

"Gather around! We're heading to the Tamelan Square!"

Since learning that only one party was needed for the fifteenth floor, I had anticipated a scenario where my comrades would be separated from me.

It was only appropriate for me to prepare a solution for such case.

Just like on the tenth floor, I still could not freely create transportable portals to anywhere I wanted to.

I still required a marker on which I could use as a guide and an anchor to my dimensional spell.

The beacon spear and dagger were such markers.

But they were not the only ones.

The enchanted rings I gave to my comrades were also instilled with the similar mana amplifier which waves only I could detect.

That way, I could always go to where my comrades were at as long as they kept wearing their ring.

This was how I planned to bring our party to the Tamelan Square quickly.

By having Devisha travel ahead of us using her great speed and agility, she would find us a safe location where I could open a portal for us to pass through.

There was still limitation to how many times I could open up a portal. But I had improved my skill enough for the limitation to not be so burdening.

Once my comrades were gathered up around me, I raised my hand and began manipulating the threads of space and time. Weaving our location together with the spot Devisha secured for us.

In matter of seconds a colorful shining circle manifested in front of my party.

At the other side of the circle stood my veil-cladded comrade, as well as the Tamelan Square, our destination.
