Was he going for a royal procession? Gu Yuze looked at Su Hai who was dressed in a dark brocade robe.
The fabric looked heavy and rich, embroidered with a gold pattern that caught the light when he moved. The wide sleeves and layered collar gave him a solemn, almost regal air.
Gu Yuze clasped his hands and gave a deep, exaggerated bow.
"Your Majesty graces us with his presence," he said solemnly.
Su Hai flicked his sleeve. "Zhen's beloved subject, rise. Since you are already here, accompany us to morning court."
Gu Yuze laughed, "Senior Brother Su." He greeted and followed Su Hai into his office at the Verdant Hall.
Compared to the luxury and flashiness that surrounded Su Hai, his office was sparsely decorated. It had surprised Gu Yuze when he first came in here.
He sat across the office and watched as Su Hai kept a polished bamboo flute on the desk before reaching to bring down some files from the shelves.
