Lina was surprised by Weisheng's sudden question. She felt embarrassed, doesn't answer. She stands silently. Weisheng understood her situation by looking at Lina's face. He reassured her,
" If you don't want to say anything, it's okay. I am Just a little bit concerned about you. You've been with us for 3 years. Now we see you as a part of the family. If there's a problem, you can tell me."
Weisheng patted Lina's head and turned to leave, when Lina burst into tears. Weisheng's words reassured her, so she didn't hesitate to express the tears that were building up inside her.
Weisheng turned back and looked at her. Lina was biting her lower lip, her cheeks and the tip of her nose were red, and tears were continuously flowing from her eyes. Lina sobbed as she cried.
Weisheng made her sit on the bed. He pulled a chair next to the bed and sat next to her. There was a glass of water on the table next to the bed, which he gave her to drink.
"Drink some water."
Weisheng held the water in front of Lina's mouth. He made her drink the water with his own hand. And with the other hand, he started rubbing her back. When Lina finished drinking the water, Weisheng put the glass on the table. He rubbed Lina's back and said,
"You can be light by saying what's on your mind."
Lina felt comfort in Weisheng's words. She felt a different kind of affection. She felt like there was someone like a shadow next to her. Lina calmed down a little, her crying slowed down a little. But she was still crying.

Weisheng removes the sheet from Lina's body with one hand and unties the chain on the back of her nightdress.

Lina turned her face away and said, "Please leave. And forget about tonight...Everything that happened."
"But why? Didn't you do this out of love for me? Don't you love me?"
"Look, this isn't right. It's unfair. What will happen if Madam finds out?"
"Leave your Madam aside. And ask your self, did you do this because of the love you have for me in your heart?"
Lina falls silent. Weisheng realizes that Lina will not move any further. Weisheng gets up from the bed and says,
"Lina... I don't know what your action was today. Maybe you were responding to me because you were in pain, or maybe you love me but haven't realized it yet—that's why you wanted to pull me closer without your knowledge. But you should know one thing, every action I took today was an expression of my feelings for you. I love you, from a long time ago.
