Chapter 1 - Start of a Legacy

Planet Nephil-20, Outer Galaxy Sector | Local Time: 9:00 PM, GCY 10,867

It was deep into the night on planet Nephil-20 when the shift started.

The sky started to shake, the land trembled and the planet itself started to crumble with pulses of Vantablack energy radiating from within seeking to paint over the very identity of Nephil-20. The landscape was shifting from brown to black, the sky from blue to a hauntingly bluish-black purple, and from the depths of the planet came ruins, old buildings and remnants of what once was.

But all but a few cared.

The small barren human settlement out in the boonies in the middle of nowhere had too much going on to care. They were poor. Left in famine, unconnected to most but connected to all, had power but truly had none at all, their sense of self fully obscured. To them it was just a reminder or the outside world, one they had no access to but could feel the influence of with their very being. They were miserable yet content. The settlement while it paled in comparison to the hundreds of trillions of people the Galactic Federation had or the Human empire they were free from the torrent of influences and problems of the Galaxy. There was no major crime ring, no worry about major species, none of it and for the people living on Nephil-20 that was enough to sacrifice comfort.

Most who lived in the settlement had one or two defining features, such as a pair of wings, eyes of fire, or faint black horns and all of them a dark translucent halo unnoticeable to most without careful scrutiny, all of them native except for a select few. Among the natives one couple, the Engels, had always wanted to leave but was prevented from doing so as not only were they poor but bared from leaving under the influence of the elders who feared the outside world based on stories of those non-native.

"The ravages of war and conflict slowly eat away at your soul! " One said.

Another stating with intense fear, " I just can't live in their spheres of influence. Those people just... I can't ... no....no...no never again. Trying to survive with them dictating your every move is just terrifying! No one outside lives their own dictated lives! Especially not those under that bastard."

But to the Engels this didn't deter them a single bit. Demain and Simone just had to return to the galaxy, their lives were destined to go back and be in the spotlight at some point, all of the villagers were destined to— or so they believed to the dismay of their elders.

The Engels knew that they knew they needed something to call them and give them a reason to stay. They wanted to leave but couldn't, they desperately wanted freedom from the poverty they were struck with but couldn't, they in their indolence were stuck between contentedness and greatness. But their fate supposedly sealed would soon change.

At the start of the planet shift in the Engel Household.

"Dear, what is that rumbling?"

"Do you know if the villagers are doing anything?" Asked Demain.

"No...not to my knowledge... wait... no... yeah it shouldn't be any thing major. Just look outside and enjoy the view" replied Simone clearly slowly losing sanity.

Demain now looking outside sees the colors of the landscape changing from dirt brown to a light black that seemed to call of the void, the waves of vantablack energy radiating and the sky changing from blue to what Demain would call the purple of royalty. It had been a while since he had seen a planet do this and he was completely enamored.

"It's just like old times! Ah... the outer reaches... the planets of water, fire, lava and even gas... the sights we've seen... oh how much do I miss them!" Demain exclaimed with his only wing colored a dark elusive black with feathers as sharp as blades on the right side of his body fluttering desperately trying to get him off the ground.

"Simone...dear...we should go out there. It's been way to long since we've seen anything resembling the glory days once past" declared Demain clearly getting more and more excited.

Now heading outside Simone yells at Demain, who still staring outside the window to hurry up and follow her.

Demain wanting to relive memories goes outside with Simone from their humble house to the see the planetary shift.

Being outside the house was more marvelous than just looking through the window. Demain and Simone were able to feel ever single tremble and change directly with their bodies.

The ground would shake violently, thrashing around directly under their feet. The material shifting from the familiar feeling of coarse rock into an equally familiar soft feeling of a foreign material not known to most—at least in this era— but known to them.

The sky and the air were changing as the fabric of reality shifted back into something else.

Ruined buildings and remnants of old were resurfacing, bringing old memories to light for all natives in the settlement.

The energy was proliferating through each and every cell of their bodies, supplying them with energy once had. It was a feeling quite nostalgic to all in the town even for those who couldn't care less.

Then at approximately 2 hours since the planet shit a relic from the past resurfaced in a place no and form into the shape of a human.

The human shaped mist started to walk and walk to the nearest living beings with each step obliterating a small part of the planet under its replacing it with a black and dark substance that seemed to have everything phase through it— causing energy bursts in the process.

The human shaped mist soon made it to where the Engels were resting slowly entering Demain's and Simone's vision.

Now seeing the mist Demain exclaims 'What the fuck is that!?"

All Demain saw was the faint outline of a human, but looking at it filled him with an inexplicable reverence and terror that filled his entire sense of self. It attracted attention, it deserved attention, it commanded loyalty, it commanded benevolence, it demanded servitude just with its mere presence and Simone could feel it too.

"It couldn't be right?" Asked Simone. "It just can't"

The shadowy figure continued moving forward distorting the very earth it walked on. Leaving traces behind that only a Myth could leave behind. Its body distorting slowly parts of its body disappeared than reappeared, the energy pulses from the planet began directing themselves toward it, and it faces appeared to be ever changing.

Slowly the humanoid mist started to come to a stop right in front of the currently paralyzed Engels and reached its hands out towards them. A streak of black light mixed in with the vantablack energy suddenly started to reverberate through the body of the humanoid exploding through its body to its hands manifesting something— something living. And with that the humanoid disappeared and the planet slowly started to appear to recovering from this event.

Stunned Demain and Simone were bewildered or say in complete mental shock. That quickly ended when they heard the cries of a baby, one they never had , one they never even thought of even having right in their hands. It was the birth of a boy with unknown origins and the start of a legend.
