The sun was up, but a good number of the royal household were already up and about, while some slept and waited to be awakened. Within the Queen's Inner Chamber, a maid pulled the heavy curtains, letting light beam its way through.
On the bed, Queen Elena yawned, then stirred a little, tired. She was no longer as vibrant, and age was now taking a toll on her body. With Adela giving her an even harder time, it was hard to go to bed early and get some decent sleep.
"Good morning, my Queen," the maid bowed.
Queen Elena could only nod and stepped down. As the maid helped her fit her legs into her slippers, her eyes glanced over at the clock, and she sighed even harder.
"Have the ministers begun coming?" she demanded, and the maid shook her head.
"The hall is empty, my Queen."
