The sisters had a great chat, but then it finally got to the question on everyone's lips.
"What happened to Emma and her husband?" Korra demanded.
Eve handed baby Carl to Lovert as she stood up and walked over to the window. The weather was getting dark.
"Nancy should know more than she is telling," Eve whispered.
"Nancy"—the name of the monster they had created.
"But Emma was the nicest amongst us. I am not proud of how I treated her and how things turned out, but she was the only one willing and ready to stand by us without gain or motives. So why would Nancy harm her?" Korra was even more puzzled. Emma was indeed a kind soul.
"I don't know, but I am certain Nancy will do anything to be at the top," Eve whispered. "For now, I have men looking for them, and I hope good news will turn up soon."
Korra nodded. Hope was all they had.
"The weather is getting dark; it's about time I head home," Eve whispered, kissing baby Carl goodbye.
