"Greetings, Mother." Prince Kallin bowed before Queen Elena.
"Kallin." Queen Elena smirked, then gestured for him to sit.
"It's been days since I arrived at the Forgotten Court, and you didn't come to see me... Why?"
Kallin shifted on his seat, uncomfortable, but he wore a smile.
"Unlike the consort of the land, I am only but a concubine to the king; hence, I am not to leave without permission or summons."
"Hmmm, I see," Queen Elena muttered, but she was far from being convinced.
"Now that you are here, you should put yourself to good use."
Kallin's face twitched.
"What do you mean, Mother? Wasn't my marriage to the king of good use?"
Queen Elena stared at the little figure before her. His short stay in the Forgotten Court had definitely given him wings, but now she was about to clip them off.
"Is that supposed to be a question?" Queen Elena roared, but Kallin did not shiver under her intense gaze. Unlike before, he faced her.
