The three men turned to the king with questionable eyes. Elias's fingers tightened around Rowan; however, Rowan just patted them softly.
"It is safe," he muttered.
Elias and the others watched the queen approach in a majestic style. Her hair was hidden under her cloak, and her nicely painted nails stood out despite the darkness.
"Consort Elias," Queen Elena forced a smile. Elias could see right through it, and for some reason, he did not feel comfortable with her. Nonetheless, he smiled and shook the extended hand.
"Nice to meet you, Queen Elena," Elias choked. The words tasted like ash on his tongue.
"Thank you," Queen Elena whispered.
"Let's move over to the table," Rowan announced as he pulled Elias away.
It wasn't as grand as the throne room, but it was enough for small meetings. Elias sat on the right of Rowan and Theron on his left, followed by the Queen. Kim made sure to stand behind his man, his hand on his shoulder as he gave him strength.
