The deal had finally come, and it was time for Prince Edmon to leave the comfort of the Forgotten Court despite his unwillingness.
Kallin was the first to wake up and helped Maya prepare a few gifts. Rowan had allocated a little allowance to him, and he did well to get his elder brother a gift, not only for him but also for their mother.
The sun had barely shown its head when Prince Kallin stood before the Center Tower, his hands clasped together nervously.
Behind him was Maya carrying gifts, followed by Nat. The guard wished he could hold his lover and soothe his worry, but it was no place to display affection, and all he did was watch.
When the giant doors opened and the maids began loading the carriage, a guard walked out and invited Kallin in alone. Maya hesitated, but Kallin smiled.
"Don't worry, I will be okay," he murmured and walked in.
Nat's fingers tightened on his sword. He stepped closer, his ears fixed to the door. He dared not let any sound pass him.
