Ficool

Chapter 7 - Ch.7

Not really, the team leader raised their wristband, quickly entered 2500, and tapped Ellie's wristband.

[Beep, transfer successful.]

Only then did she feel at ease.

"Ellie, you're a chef. If I come across any exotic beasts in the future, how can I contact you? How about... you give me a way to reach you?"

The team leader cautiously asked.

Even though they lost the bet and didn't get the ten nutritional agents, the Phoenix appeared to have handled it well, so it was still a win.

Plus, they only had to pay half the price.

It seemed like a good deal.

The base was huge, with over a hundred thousand people, and finding someone was still difficult.

Having a way to contact her would mean they could keep working on exotic beasts together and save money!

The others also began to think about it.

But Ellie wasn't stupid. If she really gave a contact, it would mean she was competing with Chef Li for money. She didn't want to cause trouble for herself and Zyler.

"If you have money, see you later, see you later..."

Seeing her refuse, everyone had to leave reluctantly.

No more excitement, so the crowd scattered.

Only a robot remained at the gate.

Finally, it was quiet.

Ellie, holding back her disgust, picked up a relatively intact cow's stomach from the big pit behind her.

Cows have four stomachs, and the one she was holding was the rumen, the largest stomach.

It probably had been sitting there for a while. Even after being washed several times from inside to out, it still had a strong smell.

She packed the remaining edible things from the pheasant into it.

At this moment, she really missed things like fiber bags, jelly pouches, and vegetable baskets...

But there was no way, she had no containers.

Maybe she could borrow a big basin from the slaughterhouse, but carrying a basin of internal organs through the street would look a bit strange.

She could only make do.

She put the freshly coagulated chicken blood in, stuffed the chicken feathers into a small cloth pouch, and carried the smelly cow's stomach as she walked out of the exotic beast slaughterhouse.

Before leaving, she even waved at the robot, "I'm leaving! Bye! I'll return this basin in a couple of days."

The robot's mechanical face showed no expression, only two small red dots flashing.

Ellie was in a good mood.

She was going shopping!

"Ugh, it smells so bad."

"Ellie, what are you holding? Oh my god... you didn't pick up garbage from the slaughterhouse, did you?"

Once again, she ran into Yazhi and Zach outside the furniture store.

Yazhi covered her nose, looking at Ellie with disgust.

Ellie looked at the bulging cow's stomach in her hands, took a step forward, and brought it to Yazhi's nose.

"Do you want some too?"

"Don't be shy, I'll treat you. Since you're having a family gathering today, I didn't have anything good to give you. Let me give this to you."

Ellie said, raising her arm and tossing the cow's stomach into Yazhi's arms.

Ah!

Yazhi immediately jumped back, waving her hand to throw the cow's stomach on the ground.

As expected of a mid-level warrior, her reaction was fast.

Ellie picked it up with a look of grievance, "If you don't like it, that's fine. Why treat me like this? Wuwuwu…"

"She's totally crazy!"

"Yazhi, let's go. Don't bother with her. Let's see how she survives in a few days!"

When the crowd started to notice, Yazhi's face turned ugly.

Zach quickly grabbed her and walked away.

Today was his big day, and he couldn't let Ellie ruin it.

After they left, Ellie immediately stopped making noise, expression unchanged as she picked up the cow's stomach from the ground and walked away confidently.

Rather than wasting time on herself, it was better to drive others crazy.

Along the way, both people who knew her and those who didn't covered their noses.

Soon, news spread that Ellie was picking up garbage to eat... Ellie was about to starve to death...

This kind of information quickly spread through the Shen Family.

"Sigh, I'm really worried. I'll go check on the two kids. This is just..." Shen Mother's heart ached when she heard this kind of news, and she couldn't stop the tears.

She and Shen Tianliang hadn't attended the family gathering.

Tianliang placed his hands on her shoulders and pressed her down, making her sit back in the chair.

"Right now, we can't help by going. Tomorrow, I will get my nutrients, and I can send some to them."

Tianliang's analysis was spot on.

If the clan leader finds out they didn't attend the family banquet and went to see Ellie, it wouldn't go over well.

On the other side, Ellie waved at the robot outside the store.

"I want the cheapest metal single bed."

She had 2650 star coins in hand, which was enough to buy the cheapest single bed.

"Sorry, defective person, no right to purchase."

What?

Ellie felt as if she had been struck by lightning, no, it was worse than being hit by lightning.

She couldn't buy anything!

Then what use was the star coins?

No, no, no, the problem was with her identity. Her defective person status.

Now it made sense. The 150 star coins left in her account before were excess!

She wanted to curse!

Sighing, she carried the stinky cow stomach and chicken blood back home.

From a distance, she saw Zyler sitting quietly in his wheelchair at the door.

When she was in a bad mood, looking at a handsome man always helped.

Ellie quickened her steps and smiled, "Are you hungry? I'll cook for you."

She waved the things she was carrying in her hands.

Zyler didn't seem to notice the foul smell. He just stared at her face.

His legs were not convenient, and it took him at most an hour and a half to go to the house to get the nutrients.

Ellie had only been gone for half an hour, and his heart was filled with unexplainable expectations, as well as some confusion.

Had he really gotten married?

An hour later, he thought Ellie would be back soon.

An hour and a half later, he wheeled himself to the door and started waiting.

Two hours later, she still hadn't returned.

He had thought of many possibilities.

Had she run off with his nutrients? No, he'd heard she hadn't left the base, where would she go?

Had she been robbed?

But robbery in the base was a serious crime, and ten packs of nutrients weren't worth that.

Or perhaps... she regretted it?

Zyler's heart was all over the place, and every person walking past the alley made him think it was her.

He waited for another ten minutes. If she didn't return, he...

But no, she had returned.

Seeing Ellie smile and show her little tiger teeth, Zyler gently smiled as well.

He turned his wheelchair and followed Ellie back into the house.

Ellie took ten packs of nutrients from her small cloth bag and placed them on the table, then tossed the chicken feathers in the corner of the wall.

She put the black-green cow stomach into a stainless steel bowl.

Once this was cleaned, she could use it to make a storage bag. Currently, the family only had a small cloth bag, about the size of a belly pouch... It wasn't enough.

Zyler: ...That was his washbasin.

"By the way, do you know about defective people?"

"I know," Zyler looked at the little person busy on the floor and suddenly realized that Ellie herself was a defective person.

Ellie washed her hands under the faucet by the door and sat on the bed.

She propped her chin up with one hand, her face full of serious curiosity. "Tell me, today when I went to buy something, I found out that defective people can't buy anything. I want to know what's going on."

"Uh... you know, I didn't care about this before, but now we're family, I need to understand more."

Seeing her nonchalant expression, Zyler felt a little sorry for her.

He began explaining the origin of defective people.

"Three hundred years ago, after an apocalypse, a human leader created a kind of seedling. After consuming it, it could change a person's body and unlock their talents."

"After humans used nuclear weapons to defeat the zombies, that leader disappeared, and the seedlings were lost. But the gene mutation of humanity was left behind."

"However, there were still some people who, even after consuming the seedlings, didn't evolve."
