She didn't scream.Didn't fight.Didn't drag the ending out.

Never got to be angry.Never got to say "I'll go first if you're leaving."
They buried her in the cemetery behind the old shrine.The one with the cracked fox statue.Yumi used to say it looked like it was smirking at her secrets.
Akiro sat at the back.
Didn't wear black.
He wore her favorite hoodie — the one she stole, the one she returned just to return again.
He didn't speak at the funeral.
But afterward?
He whispered into the dirt:
