It was a day of relentless, monsoon-like rain.
That day, Shiroko was riding her bicycle to school when the rain started. She pulled out the emergency umbrella she kept with her and continued her commute.
As she passed an alley, she saw a student, collapsed and completely soaked by the rain, with a wet bread bag pulled over their head.
Their height was roughly the same as Shiroko's. She figured it was a student who had gotten stranded, as she had seen stranded students several times before when coming this way.
"Are you okay?"
"...Don't mind me. Go on your way..."
When Shiroko approached the student out of curiosity, the student warned her not to come closer with sharp words. It sounded like they were saying she might get hurt if she approached.
"Hmph."
"W-what?!"
However, there was no way Shiroko would listen to a complete stranger. Shiroko walked up to the student and pulled off the bread bag they were wearing. Because it was wet, the bag ripped as soon as it was removed.
"Hmm."
Thinking it was beyond repair, Shiroko tossed the bag away and looked at the student whose face was now revealed.
"Oh..."
Mint-colored hair and eyes. A halo a bit similar in color to her own. Crucially, the student was a boy. By the looks of his face, he was handsome enough to make several girls cry.
"Ugh!! D-don't look!!"
When Shiroko looked at him, the boy covered his face with both hands, seemingly bothered by something. But his small hands couldn't cover his whole face.
"....."
What is this cute creature?
Riiiing! Riiiing!
Just then, her phone rang. The caller was Hoshino-senpai.
"Hello."
[Haaaawm~ Shiroko-chan~ Where are you right now? Gramps is bored~ And you're past the attendance time~]
"Sorry, I'll be right there."
[Ung~]
"Senpai, there aren't many students at our school, are there?"
[Ehh? Talking like that stabs Gramps right in the heart~ But it's true, there aren't many students~ Ah~ Isn't there anyone who wants to enroll~]
"Understood. Then I'll bring someone."
[Eh? Wait a minute, Shiroko-chan, what do you mea—]
Click. She hung up the phone.
"So, that's how it is."
"Wh-what's how it is?! Why are you coming closer?! D-don't come any closer!!"
Ignoring his pleas not to approach, Shiroko walked towards the boy.
"D-don't come!!"
Bang!!
Terrified by Shiroko's approach, the boy pulled a pistol from his holster and shot at her.
"....."
"Wh-why aren't you hitting?!"
Bang bang bang!!!
"..."
But the boy's shooting skill was terrible; not a single bullet struck Shiroko.
"This is self-defense."
"Wh-what... Heok...!!!"
Since the boy might get hurt for shooting, Shiroko ran up and hit him with a full-force punch to the stomach.
"Keh... Kek... That's dirty...!!"
"Hmm... He didn't pass out easily. Still need more training."
"Don't talk about training with something like that!!!"
Clutching his aching stomach, the boy retorted to Shiroko's words.
"Alright. Let's go now."
She forcibly tied the boy, who was lying on the ground clutching his stomach, onto her bicycle.
"L-Let go...!! What are you going to do with me?!"
"Hmm...kidnap you?"
"What is wrong with this crazy girl?!"
She said it so matter-of-factly that the boy actually found her strange.
"Hey, it's bad to talk to your senpai like that."
"Why are you my senpai?! And don't wrap tape around my body!!!"
"Alright, let's go, Kouhai-kun."
"I'm not your kouhai!! Let me go!!!"
Even as the boy screamed, Shiroko paid him no mind and headed straight for Abydos High School.
On a rainy day.
A boy was kidnapped by a wolf.
Forcibly, at that.
