## Chapter 15: Uncovering Secrets
As Clara finished reading the final letter, her eyes welled up with tears. "Dear Clyde, I'm sorry it has to end like this, but I have to do this for the witch community. Mom and dad will never approve of you .I will be getting married to another to fulfill my destiny, and I will be leaving the group. I'm sorry it has to end this way. Have fun with Ruth, she is the only person that is comfortable for you. She is a very beautiful werewolf, and together you guys will make a very handsome hybrid. Goodbye, Clyde."
Clara's voice cracked as she finished reading the letter. She felt a lump in her throat and tears streaming down her face. Josie rushed to her side, comforting her as she sobbed. Derek's expression was somber, his eyes filled with a mix of sadness and understanding.
"Hold yourself together, Clara," he said softly.
Clara took a deep breath, composing herself. "If that's what ended their love story, what connects the symbols to my family?" she asked, her voice shaking.
She showed Derek the symbol, and his eyes widened in recognition. "That symbol looks very familiar," he said, his brow furrowed in thought.
Suddenly, Derek's eyes lit up. "I know where I've seen it before," he exclaimed. He rummaged through his pockets and pulled out a necklace with the same symbol.
"This was given to me by my mother, Ruth," Derek said, his voice filled with emotion. "She said that your father, Clyde, and your mother, Alison, belonged to a secret society that helped maintain the balance of the supernatural world. They were called the Trio, led by a witch werewolf, a vampire, and..."
Derek's eyes locked onto Clara's, and he continued. "Ruth was the werewolf leader, Clyde was the vampire leader, and Alison was the third leader. They led the Trio together, but then Alison left the group to get married, and another member left as well. After I was a vampire leader, and Alison was the third leader. They led the Trio together, but then Alison left the group to get married, and another member left as well. After I was born, they stopped their involvement with the Trio, and when I was five, they left the house because it held bad memories."
Clara's eyes were wide with wonder, her mind racing with the implications. "So, what does this mean for us?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Derek's expression was thoughtful, his eyes locked onto Clara's. "I'm not sure, but I think we're about to find out."
