Chapter 7 - musing (Clara’s pov)

Clara walked through the moonlit streets, her thoughts consumed by the revelations about her family's past. The silver light cast eerie shadows on the buildings, and she felt a shiver run down her spine. She had always known her parents were heroes, but the idea that they might have been involved in magic was both thrilling and terrifying.

As she turned a corner, Clara stumbled upon a small, quaint bookstore she had never noticed before. The sign above the door read "Moonlit Pages." She pushed open the door, and a bell above it rang out, welcoming her into the cozy space.

The store was dimly lit, with shelves upon shelves of old books and manuscripts. Clara's fingers itched to touch the spines, to feel the history and knowledge contained within. A figure emerged from the shadows – an elderly woman with kind eyes and a warm smile.

"Welcome, Clara," the woman said, her voice gentle. "I've been expecting you. You're searching for answers, aren't you?"

Clara's eyes widened in surprise. "How did you know my name?"

The woman chuckled. "In a town like this, news travels quickly. Besides, I have my ways. Come, let me show you something."

She led Clara to a shelf filled with books bound in black leather. "These contain the history of your family, Clara. The truth about your parents and their connection to magic."

Clara's heart raced as she opened one of the books. The pages were filled with handwritten notes, diagrams, and spells. She felt a strange connection to the words, as if they were calling to her.

As she read, the doorbell above the entrance jangled again. The elderly woman's eyes flicked towards the sound, a hint of concern crossing her face. "It seems we have a visitor," she said, her voice low.

Clara turned to see a tall, brooding figure standing in the doorway. His eyes locked onto hers, and she felt a jolt of electricity run through her body.
