Chapter 2 - Raiden Is Dead

An hour later, no fewer than forty villagers had gathered near the exploded car. They had managed to lift a badly injured young man onto the road above, and since there was no vehicle to take him to the hospital in town, they were forced to push his tall body with a vegetable carrier.

When she found him, the young man was in a terrible state and could only weakly raise his hand and say, "There's someone in the car!" Then he gave Raiden a ring that had accidentally slipped off his hand when he helped him earlier.

The citizen who was given the ring didn't quite understand what the young man was saying. He just nodded and returned the ring to the young man's hand without thinking what the young man said was important, then the young man fell unconscious.

It was only when the young man's body was being pushed away by the vegetable carrier that the man tapped his forehead as if remembering something, "Isn't that the ring that Raiden Stamp always wears?"

As the flames surrounding the wrecked car grew higher and higher, the man unconsciously shouted: "Raiden is trapped in that car, let's help!"

The people who heard the shouting glared in confusion, "How could Raiden Stamp be in that fine vehicle?"

"Is that guy delirious?"

Another person looked to the side. Raiden's mountain bike was lying there helplessly. "That's Raiden's bike, isn't it?!"

People's faces grew serious, "Yes, that's right, it is his bike!"

"Someone! Call Miss Anya to come!"

"Let's put out that fire right away!"

When they saw the car burning from above, they had no idea that there were still people trapped inside. And now that they knew, they rushed to extinguish the fire with water that they fetched from the bottom of the ravine with the tools they had.

But due to the difficulty of carrying a lot of water, even with the efforts of the forty people, the fire did not go out for a long time, until finally all the things that could burn in the car had been used up, and the fire extinguished itself.

At the top of the ravine, Anya came with a ragged breath. "Where's big brother?!" She screamed hysterically, and, like a trance, tried to barge into the embers that had just been extinguished.

"Miss, don't come any closer! It's dangerous!"

Several people held Anya firmly. Anya screamed even more hysterically, "But my brother is inside!" She looked at the car that was only visible as charcoal that was still emitting thick smoke. The wind carried the ash flying until several residents coughed because of it, "Brother!"

One of the villagers came over and held Anya. He opened his mouth to soothe her, "Miss, you need to calm down and think more clearly now."

Anya roared in pain. No one in the world can think clearly when they see their loved ones burned. Anya cried until her throat was dry, and she coughed very hard. A second later, she lost consciousness and everything went dark.

The people holding her grew more and more panicked. From any angle, Anya looked very messy and disheveled. In fact, both of her feet were quite badly injured from running from the house barefoot. She even fell down a few times earlier. "Anyone, please get another vegetable carrier, let's take this lady to the hospital too!"

And the people began to divide, some taking care of the ashes from the car wreck, and some taking care of Anya and the young man they found earlier.

Five hours later, in a small suburban hospital. The sky had darkened when Anya opened her eyes for the first time.

When her eyes actually managed to see something, the first thing in her brain was that her brother had died!

Anya sighed, she was a realistic person in this life. It was just that, thinking that the only family she had in this world was gone, her tears couldn't help but well up, and she couldn't help the tightness in her heart right now.

Next to the hospital bed she was in, there were two farm laborers that her sister trusted the most. They looked at her open eyes and walked forward, "Miss, are you awake?"

The other farm laborer said, "I'll get a doctor."

Anya blinked her eyes absentmindedly, looking at the worried presence of aunt Luci, "Auntie.... " Her mouth trembled, and her tight heart grew even tighter.

Aunt Luci approached, her eyes also filled with water, but she still moved to wipe the tears on Anya's face. "Raiden is a good one, he loves you as much as you love him. He never misbehaved with anyone, he would definitely have a good place there."

Anya felt something big and hard in her throat. Nonetheless, she nodded and forced herself to think better.

Aunt Luci kissed Anya's forehead with trembling lips. "She will never be able to leave peacefully if you don't let her go. Therefore, you must learn to accept all this and let her be happy in another world."

Anya blinked her eyes repeatedly, trying to stop the seemingly endless tears.

Moments later, Reynold, the farm laborer who had said he wanted to call the doctor, returned, with a doctor in tow. The doctor examined Anya for a while, then said, "Other than the blisters and sprains on her legs, as well as some wounds that she seems to have gotten a few days ago, you should also keep your mind calm and eat well. Remember, the best medicine in the world is a calm heart."

Anya exhaled her breath. She knew that if her brother was still alive, she would also see him living well, and she wanted to think more realistically that her brother was really gone. "Then, what about that young man?"

The doctor frowned, momentarily forgetting about the young accident victim who came before Anya. "oiya, he has quite serious injuries, broken bones in his right leg and right hand, and until now, no family has come to visit."

The young man came in a nice vehicle to her village. Of course, he came from the city. It could be said, the young man came from a distant place. It might take some time for his family to come.

"If I may know, what's his name, Dok?" In Anya's mind, her brother died because he wanted to save the young man's life. And now, if Anya didn't make herself appreciate that young man's life, she might become someone who had wasted her brother's sacrifice.

The doctor didn't answer immediately, one hand lightly tapping his almost bald head. Understandably, the doctor looked old, so he might have forgotten. However, a second later the doctor's face brightened as he managed to remember the young man's name. "His name is Adair."

Anya frowned. Adair, seems like she had heard this name before?
