First of all, I never wanted to leave India for UK. But life isn't always fair, so all you can do is play along.
My name is Feni Cristo. I was born in a place called Kerala in- actually "Kerala" is how people outside call it. We, locals called it Keralam. So Keralam is a state in India, which is called the anklet of India .I've seen influencers across the globe calling India the dirtiest country. But you guys only visit the worst place in India and just decide that the rest of the country is dirty too?. It's like visiting a dirty drainage in the USA and calling the whole country dirty.
"Kerala is peaceful. The people in there is just as good as coconut" well I mean, people can be bothered good and bad, despite which country they are from. Though I does agree that coconut is the best!
In my opinion the chaotic markets are the best 'cause imagine waking up and walking right through the market to buy some GORGEOUS mangoes. Man, I miss that.
Enough about Kerala,
Let me talk about myself and where I am right now. I am 17 years old, I was 14 when my parents got a job offer from the UK and my family moved here. As I said, I was just a teen, which means I was missing my friends and cousins. And cried myself almost everyday to sleep.
I know it's for my family and my parents to work. But it's not fare they get to take away my dream to date a cute boy, who actually cares for me and to become a Mallu writer.(mallu: a term used for people that are from Kerala, and speaks a language called Malayalam.)
Of course the 14 year old me was just depressed when I realized there was no more wearing jhumka and kurtas.
At school, I met a lot of friends but none of them can be compared to my friends and cousins from kerala.
BUT it all changed when my mom came home after her duty and said to me "Feni, start packing. We're leaving for India in 2 weeks. I've called your school and asked them permission to leave."
Will I be able to go back to Kerala and start over my dream to find a cute boy, date him, and become a Mallu writer?
