"Hey, what happened here?"
A tall girl with golden-brown hair and sparkling emerald green eyes asked, her voice laced with curiosity. She was slightly shorter than Lucien, her voluptuous figure accentuated by the form-fitting gown she wore.
Her gaze was one of confusion as she scanned the crowd gathered in the corridor, finally landing on Lucien.
"Lucien!"
However, as soon as she saw his figure, her eyes glowed beautifully as if finding a gem in a rogue.
Then, she completely ignored the crowd and ran towards him with a light steps with a little joy on her face.
The way her eyes lit up, you'd think she'd just spotted her long-lost lover.
"Liora?"
Only, Lucien didn't seem to be happy after seeing her figure.
"Hey, you are here? I finally found you. Hurry up and give me a few hundred gold coins. I found these nice earrings, and I don't have any money left on me."
The reason was self-evident as the moment she came near, she grabbed Lucien's arm and asked for money.
Her fingers drifted too close to the bulging pouch hanging on his belt.
"Hey, hey. Lady, calm down. Don't snatch it."
Lucien had to hurriedly guard it with his hands, otherwise, it would have really disappeared.
From the way Liora extended her hand, she seemed to have done this before.
'Why the fuck you have to hang your money around your belt?' He thought, feeling speechless at his previous self.
"Tsk.. stingy."
Seeing how quickly Lucien guarded his wealth, Liora rolled her beautiful eyes, scrunched her nose, and clicked her tongue in annoyance.
"Can you be serious? Didn't I just give 500 gold coins yesterday? Why are you out of it already?"
Lucien asked, glancing at the girl who stood a head shorter than him, her eyes fixed on his pouch without wavering for even a second.
Liora Evergreen, daughter of the Count family, Evergreen. Due to their family relationship, they were quite close.
Or, it might be because of her money-hungry nature and his prodigal behaviour, who knew?
'A Golddigger?'
After recalling the memory, Lucien looked at the girl up and down a little weirdly.
He was dumped by his girlfriend because he was broke. Now, he was on guard against any girl, even if she was beautiful.
Not to mention, the girl was staring at his pouch like a lioness eyeing prey. Only, she looked moments away from drooling.
"Come'on, don't be too stingy. Mere 500 gold coins, not even enough to attend an auction in the capital."
Liora said, annoyed.
"So, you wasted them on an Auction? What did you buy?"
Lucien raised his eyebrows and asked.
This time, they were in the capital of the Edoria Kingdom, Bellenford Capital, to attend the Class Awakening Ceremony.
Due to his low talent, his mother spent a huge amount of money on an awakening quota in the capital in the hope that he would at least awaken a class.
After all, there was a greater chance of awakening in the ceremony held in the capital than at their viscount's estate.
"Hehe... I bought something quite useful. If you are curious, I will tell you if you give me money, what do you think?"
Liora didn't answer but smiled slyly while extending her hand.
"No need. I don't care what you buy anyway."
But to her dismay, Lucien mercilessly rejected her offer and walked out of the corridor as he didn't want to become a spectacle of the crowd.
'Come to think of it, why is her name not on the debt list? I clearly remembered giving her 500 gold coins yesterday.'
Lucien thought finding it was weird.
This was also the reason he was conflicted about whether to use his system on her, besides not wanting to exploit her.
After all, no matter what, she wasn't an enemy and quite close to his previous self.
"Wait—100 gold coins, at least! You're really walking away?"
Liora was stunned by Lucien's behavior, but quickly ran towards him, lowering the amount.
"You are the daughter of a count. Don't you even have 100 gold coins?"
Lucien asked, finding it quite odd. Although 100 gold coins were a lot, it wasn't that much for a daughter of a count family, right?
"Tsk, I am not like you. My allowance isn't much and I already spent it all."
Liora said a little unnaturally, dodging her eyes with a guilty look.
"I don't care what you do with your money. But... when are you going to return the one I gave you already?"
Lucien suddenly asked, trying to find out why the system didn't include her.
"Return? Why should I return? Didn't you say I don't need to before?"
Liora was stunned by his question and unconsciously replied before puffing up her cheeks,
"Hey, you've suddenly become stingy. Didn't you say I could use as much of the money as you gave me without needing to repay it?"
