William was the last to leap from his position aboard the helicopter to the cacophony of gunfire below.
Robot was using some internal firing mechanism to launch a barrage of laser beams toward the two massive twins while Rex kept pummeling them with a nonstop avalanche of explosions, unfortunately these measures only served to slow down the towering twins as they opened fire on their new adversaries.
"Wiiirrrr"
The barrels of the guns the Mauler Twins began winding up into a spin before a thick stream of red lights scream towards the two but luckily for the two a pink solid light shield appeared in front of them and absorbed the incoming fire.
Kate sent a dozen clones out who then split up between the twins and they were forced to drop their guns to take on the sudden onslaught of clones.
"Pow, Pow, Pow, Pow, Pow!"
The laser's ricochet off the barrier, but the force still blasted them backwards into the wall of a nearby building.
"BOOM!"
They crashed through the wall and were sent sprawling through the other side.
William arrived in front of one of the Mauler twins with his fist raised and slammed it hard into the strange blue man's jaw which surprisingly for him managed to knock the massive man off his footing for a second allowing Kate to pull him down with sheer numbers.
However, before William can celebrate, he turns around to the sound of a laser gun heating up.
"Pow, Pow, Pow, Pow, Pow!"
William's body is body is suddenly riddled with holes in his chest as the kevlar did not do much against something as powerful as a laser gatling gun.
"NOOOOO!"
Kate screamed as she caught the front row seats to William's heart and lungs being turned into paste however pulling herself together, she summons another group of twenty clones as the one on the ground had begun ripping the other Kate's in half in relatively quick order.
"BOOM!"
Rex emerged from the hole in the wall with explosive orbs emerging from his hands and Robot firing off rockets and beams of his own.
Eve had begun using her powers to jam the rotation of the other Mauler twin's laser weapon while she checked on William's condition.
"Is... is he healing, so fast!"
Her eyes turned a bright pink as she scanned his body and what she saw was astounding.
She personally witnessed the pool of blood within him to reform the destroyed organs but what caught Eve's attention the most was the fact that underneath it all the new flesh was somehow more durable, like going from paper to cardboard but still a difference than what is considered normal.
Even the bones being formed were different, more durable and denser with tensile strength closer to medium grade stainless steel.
William's heart suddenly started beating loudly as the flesh regrew over it and his eyes snapped open mildly frightening Eve.
"Y... Y... Y... You okay?" She stuttered out a question in mild concern and fright but when she heard the charging of a laser gatling gun, she was too late to put up a barrier and the Mauler Twin began firing upon her.
Luckily one of them was aware of his surroundings and she was suddenly swept up in William's arm's before throwing her out of the path of the beams.
Through sheer grit he managed to duck behind a car as the volley of beams tore the vehicle into shreds but suddenly once again the spinning mechanism jammed, and he looked over to see Eve's eyes glowing a brilliant pink and a similar pink light emanating from her fist.
A fierce look of determination on her face as she grits her teeth in clear struggle.
William did not wait any longer and launched himself toward the twin who was forced to drop his weapon and engage in hand-to-hand combat.
The twin struck first, landing a hard blow to the center of William's chest that shattered his ribcage and making him puke out blood as he was forced to slide backward but the bones reformed, and William countered by performing a sliding kick into the twin's knee.
"CRACK!"
The twin's knee inverted, and the bone began sticking out the back of his knee causing him to collapse to the ground.
"AAAAHHHHHHHHH!"
Agonizing roars of pain echoed from the twin to the point his vocal cords became torn and taking advantage of his inability to cope with the pain William dashed up to him and began punching the twin so hard that after seven punches his fist had been nearly worn down to the bone.
The other Mauler twin is still unable to rid himself of the combined fury of Robot, Kate and Rex and finds himself pressed to the ground by a mountain of Kate's
William had knocked the twin unconscious through a combination of sheer pain and blunt force trauma to the brain rendering things complete on his end as well and as the two incapacitated twins were forcibly teleported away by GDA agent's the surrounding policemen and women began clapping.
People came out of buildings offering gifts and thanks for saving them from potential disaster but seeing as how it wouldn't be right to accept these the team refused politely before signaling the VTOL nearby to come pick them up.
Up in the sky a slightly incensed teen with dark hair and a blue and yellow superhero suit floated in the clouds and looked at things below, she waited for a few seconds to calm herself.
"Damnit, I didn't even get to make my debut... this suck's!" Her thoughts focused on the team member in the green suit and the brutality in which he took down Mauler.
"POW!"
The air erupts as she flies off in anger and causes a minor sonic boom which forced people to look up to see what caused it only to see nothing.
Back at the GDA a pleased Cecil was watching everything on the monitor and even managed to catch Marie Grayson showing up just as things were finishing only to fly off in a huff at being unable to make an appearance that was justifiable.
"Looks like things are about to get interesting!"
Cecil says which causes Donald who is standing at his side to nod his head in agreement
Donald is glad William is doing his part despite the general lack of training and pondered on making a return to the field himself only to shake his head.
"Way too old for that kind of work!" Donald thought before following Cecil to his office where they went over some paperwork they were behind on.
Back at the Teen Team HQ loud cheers were ringing out as the group not only congratulated themselves on a successful mission but their newest recruit's first successful mission.
Kate, Eve, Robot and Rex all cheered merrily but like all things a party must end and soon the team head out for their homes if they had them leaving William in the hideout with Rex and Robot both of whom were busy with their own things with Rex checking out the latest home magazine or Robot in the midst of some great scientific project leaving William along to check out the facility for himself.
He strolled through the base and eventually found himself in the testing facility that doubled as a gym and walked up to a set of free weights which seemed to be collecting dust and began lifting.
"BANG!"
The eighty-pound weights felt incredibly light as if they were fake weights causing him to let go but the sound of them falling sounded right for the weight leaving him scratching his head in confusion.
William picked up another group of weights and lifted and only felt slight increases in strain before he found himself curling a squat bar with three hundred on either side.
"What... the... fuck!"
His eyes go wide when he lifts the bar over his head single handedly and tosses the bar to the ground which causes the ground to shake slightly.
He knew he was able to shrug off most blows thanks to his strange ability to heal from his wounds, but he truly had no idea where the sudden burst in strength came from, back when he was in the orphanage, he could only lift sixty-pound free weights normally.
As he pondered on this, he moved on to bench press and found himself stunned once more as not only did the bar itself feel light as a feather but the weight he would normally struggle with was now no longer worthy of drawing a bead of sweat from his forehead.
He only began to struggle when he had reached the six-hundred-pound mark and began to reach his limit at the eight-hundred-pound mark.
"Holy shit man, leave some weight for the rest of us!"
Rex's brash voice echoed in the room and William looked up to see the man himself watching him from up above.
He jumps down with some heroic flair, clearly trying to look cool for the new guy and approached William on the floor.
"So... I hear you can heal, any truth to that?"
Rex had an arrogant smirk on his face as he played with a sphere of explosive energy between his fingers.
"Yeah, it kind of sucks though
He scratched the back of his head remembering the feeling of his bones being reformed within him and the terrifying feeling of organs being reshaped into functional parts once more.
"Show me, I need a warm-up, I am still pretty pumped from the previous fight ya know!"
Rex threw the explosive orb in his hand toward William and the mass of energy erupted in front of William with enough force to push him back several feet before he falls backward.
When William looks back up through the smoke, he can see a fist shooting towards him with decent speed and power but when it reached his face he was met with a punch combined with explosive force.
"BOOM!"
Rex's punch sent William sliding on the ground for a few feet before he stood back up, the skin on his face that had disappeared due to the punch was visibly reforming in front of Rex who could only whistle in admiration before continuing his assault.
William begins running in circles around Rex to dodge the incoming explosive projectiles and after losing his forearm to a rather nasty explosive charge which he was forced to block he sent a kick toward Rex's head which he blocked with his arm however—
"Crack!"
An audible snap and Rex turned his head to find his arm had grown a new joint complete with sound effects as he collapsed to his knees in pain.
"OKAY... WE WILL CALL THIS... A DRAW... FOR NOW!"
Rex huffed through heavy breathing and left while nursing his now limp arm as he walked towards the direction of the infirmary.
"CLAP... CLAP... CLAP..."
A series of clapping came from the upper ramparts and William looked up to find the rest of the team watching while others were snacking on various candies.
Eve and Kate seemed to be exchanging money per some kind of bet with Kate betting on William and Eve naturally betting on her boyfriend while Robot did analytics and scans of the fight and fighters.
Sitting next to the girls but glaring at William was that dark haired young woman he had met at Art's tailor shop, he was not paying attention before, but this girl had really long legs and a cute face, like an idol would in their prime.
Her blue eyes pierced into him like a knife, and he could sense some mild hostility, but the feeling disappeared almost as soon as it arrived when she looked away.
William came to his senses after staring for a solid fifteen seconds and walked to the showers to go cool off and clean the sweat from his body.
"Holy shit, she is hot!"
His nose bled a bit as he recalled those strong athletic legs but after turning on the cold water he calmed down.
"Apparently... I am a leg guy!"
He joked as the water continued to pour like a rain shower and soon put his thoughts to ease.
"Welcome to the team!"
A feminine voice from behind caused William to jolt upward and cover his private bits, he turned his head to see Kate across from him removing her clothing which caused his entire body to turn beat red and he turned back around.
"Uhm, did they not tell you I was in here!"
Kate rolled her eyes at the innocence displayed behind her.
"Think of it like a Co-Ed building in college or something, we are allowed to co-mingle as long as it does not jeopardize the mission at hand!"
She began applying soap to her body, the soft jiggle that William saw nearly causing his nose to begin bleeding and he turned around not only to hide the bleeding but to hide something else.
"This is going to be rough before it gets better..." He sighed in defeat and focused on showering.
She finished first as William was too nervous to turn around in fear, she would see IT and scream or something but just before she left—
"Crack!"
She turned the towel into a whip and snapped it on William's ass before closing the door and running away with an audible laugh.
