Both Keveelsky and his friend were in a trance even after the girls left. Keveelsky was the one to come to his senses first. Looking at his friend, he ignored him and went home. Havila had already arrived before him and was now in the kitchen. He went upstairs to change his clothes and came back to the kitchen. He hugged her from the back and sniffed her. Everything about her was sour but sweet. Even her hair smelled like lemonade, and he loved it. It was her signature. He asked, " Miss beautiful, what are you making?"
Havila didn't mind the hug because they were married, and she enjoyed the hug. She paused and replied, " Steamed fish with potatoes and green beans." He said, " Sounds delicious."He had often lived a seven-star life, so he wasn't sure if Havila's dishes would be to his liking. He had faith in his wife as she was full of surprises, so he eagerly waited. He asked, "Do you need any help?" She replied, "You can start by setting the table by preparing the wine. The food and the rest, I will take care of it."
He said okay and disappeared into the wine cellar. He brought his favorite wine that he only drinks during his achievements. He had never shared it with anyone except his mother. This time, he is going to share it with the woman he will spend his entire life with. Well, we can add marriage as one of his achievements. After an hour, the table was fully set. There was a variety of food, and Keveelsky couldn't help but swallow his saliva as the aroma was intoxicating.
There were chapatis, French beans, green beans, steamed fish, medicinal vegetables, and many others. She set the plates and served a small quantity of each dish, and gave them to her husband. He tasted the food and took time to savor the taste, as it was very sweet. It was even better than that of their family's chef. He shot his eyes open when he tasted a familiar flavor. His friend's grandfather was a chef, and he used to enjoy his cooking every time he went for a sleepover. He asked excitedly, "What did you add for the tasting? It tastes familiar and different."
Havila also noticed that she was exposed to his questioning, so she told him the truth. "Chef Daniel is my teacher, and I added a secret recipe of mine." He then complimented her, " It is very delicious, even better than his. He would be very proud of you." Havila nodded and said, "Yes, that day on the night of the fire, I was the one to cook for the guests. He took my place and told me not to come. If I had gone, maybe I would have saved him and everybody else. I have tools that can enable me to even climb the tallest building. That accident has always been haunting me; I regret it till today. He was a good man."
Havila choked as she narrated what happened back then. Keveelsky went to her side and gave her a shoulder hug and comforted her, "Don't cry, it was not your fault, maybe if you had gone, you also would have died together with them. The people who burned down the building were already apprehended; they were the quest's enemies, and your master was collateral damage." Havila sniffed and said, "I could have tried saving them." He hugged her tightly and gave comfort silently. Sometimes it was best not to talk when someone was grieving.
After some time, she calmed down and leaned on Keveelsky's shoulders. She said, " I am sorry, I ruined the atmosphere of the dinner. Let's eat before it is cold." He went back to his chair and said," Those criminals were all captured and sentenced accordingly, don't blame yourself again, as they got what they deserved. Just for consolation, the old man was also suffering from terminal illness and refused treatment. So to him, it was a blessing in disguise as he was already in too much pain. That is why he took in a disciple."
He wiped away her tears and served her food. They enjoyed their meal, after which they assisted each other in doing the dishes and cleaning the room, then they retired to their bedroom. They had already passed the awkward period a week ago and were now free with each other. They were very intimate; only the last step remained. They freshened up, and Keveelsky spooned her. In no time, she drifted to la-la land. Keveelsky heard her even breathing and gave her a peck on the forehead and whispered, " Good night, wifey." He also drifted to slumber.
He came to realize that ever since they got married and started sharing a bed, he no longer had insomnia. In fact, he slept better, so in the morning when he woke up, he realized that his side was empty and was very cold, meaning Havila had woken up way earlier before him and tucked him in, and put a pillow under his arms. He thought he was hugging her all along. He checked the time and found that it was six thirty. Immediately, he woke up and went to freshen up.
In the beginning, he found her lifestyle weird, but he had already gotten used to it. She would usually wake up by five, do small fitness exercises and take her bath then go to the kitchen to make breakfast. She said there was no need to hire a maid because she was 'jobless', or you could just say, her job required her physical presence once in a while. Most of the time, she would only be busy with her computer.
In the bathroom, he found out that she had already refilled everything, including his toothbrush. He had to give her her flowers because everything was of the best quality. She had a good taste, expensive but simple. He smiled to himself and thought how nice it was to have a wife. He wondered if things would still be the same had Tamara agreed to come for registration. He thanked God for his favor in giving him Havila.
