Havillah was lost in thought as she trudged down the streets, not knowing where to go. She crossed the road to have a seat on the public benches. A moment after she crossed, she saw a bright light directed at her coming at a speed of over 80 km/hr. With her quick reflexes, she could have dodged, but she did not. She just stood there and closed her eyes, and counted, but the pain never came. A moment later, she heard a loud bang and realized that the car had missed her.
She looked over and saw the car hanging on a nearby railing on the bridge. She gaped in astonishment, and not caring about her life, she went forward and banged hard on the driver's window. The windows were all rolled down, and looking over, she saw an old man lying there in a pool of blood, and she almost fainted. She shouted, and the man opened his eyes, seeing a very beautiful lady leaning on a nearly crashing car. He begged her to take the driver and leave.
Havillah went to the driver's side, opened the door, and pulled the driver out. She yelled for him to run, but the driver refused. He pledged to take care of Mr Delus with his life. Havillah assured him that she would save the man, and that is when the driver ran away to look for help. Their phones had all long fallen down the river, and they could not contact emergency services. He had to go look for help because there were no other vehicles on the bridge.
Havillah got in the car and sat beside the old man. She tapped his forehead to keep him awake. She asked, "Grandpa, how are you? Are you hurt anywhere else apart from here? Can you move?" She pointed at the wound. ' My child, I am old bones, now go out immediately and save yourself. You are still very young," Mr. Delus said. "It does not matter how young I am; I have nothing left in this world, and it will be better to do one last good thing for society before we both die," Havillah answered while smiling brightly, but Grandpa Delus could detect and see pain in her eyes.
"Then let us both go out and do one last thing you mentioned. At least I am not as pitiful as you. I have two handsome grandsons who are both single, and I do not regret anything in life. What about you, what do you have?" he asked. The girl was shocked at first, but then she answered with tears in her eyes, "I have nothing, so it is okay even if I die here today, nobody will miss me. What about your family? They will miss you a lot."
"What about your family?" he asked. "I have no family; the people I thought were my family turned out to be only using me all this time," she replied. Grandpa Delus was not surprised because it was a normal thing in the richer households; everyone wanted the wealth for themselves. He also had them in his family. To divert her attention, he asked her, "How old are you?" "I turned twenty-one today," she answered.
"Too bad that I am eighty years old now and I cannot marry you, but I have a grandson who is the right age for marriage, maybe you could get married to him, then I would see you daily." They were so engrossed in the story that they forgot that they were in the middle of an accident. The driver who had run for help came back, and just as they prepared the harness to pull the car, the railing holding the car broke suddenly, and the car fell into the river.
"MASTER! he became hysterical and started to blame himself. "It's all my fault; instead of rescuing the master, I ran out and left him all by himself." Then he squatted down and clutched his head, crying loudly. The rescue team did not have time to console him, so they shouted to him to go down the river to try to rescue the old man. He jolted to his senses and ran down the river. As he ran, he reached for his phone to make a call to one of the grandsons, one was busy filming, while the other one rang three times, then directly went to voicemail.
He put the phone back in his pocket as he reached the river. He and the rescuers found the old man, who was being dragged out of the river by the beautiful girl. She lay him down flat and started performing CPR immediately. After showing no signs of gaining conscious, she spoke to his ears " grandpa, please open your eyes, you are my last good deed, please wake up. what will i tell your handsome grandsons, hmm? they might even blame me fro killing you. please wake up, wake up, wake up." she was so into it that she didn't notice that the old man had opened his eyes and was now smiling at her.
One of the paramedics saw the smile on Mr Delus eyes and heaved a huge sigh of relief. he tapped havilah on the shoulder and said." young girl, he is already awake, stop crying now, okay. step aside so that we can take look at him " on hearing hat he was awake, she sprung up immediately and due to fatigue from swimming earlier, she collapsed and fainted. The old man was so shocked that he also fainted again. The paramedics took both of them in the ambulance and took them to the nearby hospital.
On the other side of the seas, the aloof, handsome CEO was taking a shower when his phone rang. He told Tamar (the alleged benefactor) to receive it on his behalf. The lady took a peek at the phone and immediately knew that it was a call from home, so instead of answering, she cut the call and muted the phone. The girl didn't love the man; she only loved the attention and the money.
When keveelsky finished his shower, he came out and hugged the girl from the back and asked "who called?" tamara pretended she didn't hear and instead asked a question, " kev, what are your plans with me when i finish my studies?" keveeelsky answered immediately "of course to go back home and get married asap, you know grandfather has been pestering me for so long, let's give him what he wants than we will see what next. You can apply and start working for our company."
Tamara was not very happy with the marriage thing. Still, she didn't voice her opinion; in her heart, she knew that she would leave him quietly when the time came. Right now, she still needed him to pay her bills. She tested the waters and said, "After I graduate, can you give me a position as head of finance in the company? You know finance is my major, and my skills should be used for us, not any other company. Let me manage the finances so that they are not squandered by those vixens." She didn't even notice that she spoke like a vixen.
The aloof CEO was taken aback at first but dispelled the thoughts because this is the first time this girl was asking something from him. he answered naturally, "there is no backdoor even for a family member or people closest to me, you have to get in with your strength, then I'll see to it." he talked as he carried her to the large bed. The funny thing is, Kevelsky has never crossed the boundary with Tamar; he carried her, hugged her, but that was all. He never even kissed her before. Even Tamar thought that he had some problem because she believed no man could resist her.
Just as they lay on the bed, the phone rang again, coincidentally, they had the same ringtone, but he did not know that, so Keveelsky took the phone thinking it was his. he put it as his ringtone because that was the song the girl from back then sang for him when he was losing consciousness. It lodged in his mind till today. he took the phone and realized it was not his but Tamar's. he gave it to her, and she dashed out.
Keveelsky looked at her and wondered what was so confidential that he also could not hear, but he kept quiet about it. He lay down and remembered the phone call when he was in the bathroom.
