Chapter 10 - Out Of Prison?

"Boss, that scum is out of the prison." An inmate informed Marcus as he was now out of the death cell.

"What did you say exactly?". Marcus said as he stopped eating his meal.

Today was the day when Marcus was released from the death cell.

"Boss Grayson is out of prison". The inmate said again, catching his breath.

"How did he get out so early? How is this even possible". Marcus said, eyes burning red.

"Yess, boss, we all are amazed to see him getting out so early." Inmate replied in a second.

"That scum bag thinks he will get away so easy after doing all this to me, but I will not spare him so easily," Marcus yelled, standing from his chair while his eyes were filled with rage.

His heart pounded in his chest, a mix of disbelief and fury coursing through his veins. The thought of Grayson walking free ignited a fire within him, his mind racing with plans for revenge.

Marcus felt a burning desire for justice, determined to make Grayson pay for the betrayal that had cost him so much.

"I want you to gather all my people here. I will not spare that rat so easily after what he has done to me. He threw me in that trash and took away my dignity and my control". Marcus ordered the inmate, clenching his jaws.

After some time, all his followers in prison gathered around him.

"He embarrassed me in front of everyone. Took my control and my dignity. You all know what that means". Marcus announced while everyone was listening; his voice became deep in thirst for revenge.

"Boss, we will make sure he regrets what he has done to you. Just tell us what to do". One of Marcus's followers spoke from the crowd.

"I want you to activate your connections outside and gather all the information related to Grayson. Where he lives, his family, friends, his money, everything". Marcus ordered his people, deep voice flaunted strong confidence in him.

"It's time to remind Grayson that he doesn't get to walk away from me. I want every connection we have on the outside to find him. I don't care how long it takes—he's dead." He added.

After some effort, Marcus finally tracks Grayson down. He gathers intelligence about his new life and tries to findvulnerabilities.

While he tracks down his every move, he finally gets into contact with one of his old allies, Rico.

A member of the old low-life gangsters is deadly dangerous. They can waste no time in taking someone's life.

Rico, with his extensive network and reputation for ruthlessness, becomes a crucial asset in Marcus's plan for retribution.Known for his ability to execute high-risk operations, Rico provides Marcus with insider information and the muscle needed to carry out the task.

Together, they form a formidable team, determined to bring Grayson to his knees and ensure that Marcus's vengeance is swift and merciless.

"Hey Marcus, how are you doing? Hope you are enjoying in there". Rico said as he finally came to meet Marcus in prison.

"Don't mess with me. This is not a fun time. You have to do what I told you. I need no mistakes, okay?". Marcus said, wrinkles apparent on his forehead.

"Yeah, I know what to do. Don't worry." Rico smirked, his voice showing sarcasm.

"This isn't just about revenge. This is about showing everyone what happens when you mess with me. Grayson made me look weak, and now I'll make him beg for mercy." Marcus said he was boiling in rage, thirsty for his revenge.

"Consider it done, boss. By the time we're through, he'll wish he never got out of here". Rico grins, cracking his knuckles.

While Marcus gives some vital tasks to Rico to complete. He also gets a tip from outside of the jail during visiting hours.

Jordan Steele, the lawyer who had successfully put Grayson in jail, wanted to join hands with Marcus.

Marcus' eyes narrow, taking an interest in what the lawyer wants and expanding his reach.

"Yeah, we can work together, but remember one thing, no one should get to him before I do," Marcus replies to the message. After considering it, He finally decides to join hands with Jordan.

"Enjoy your freedom while it lasts, Grayson. You won't have it for long." Marcus smirked, clenching his fists while dark determination flaunted from his eyes.

Grayson arrives back at his home.

"Good evening, sir". Sarah opens the door of Grayson's car.

"Thank you". Grayson replies; his heart starts beating heavily as he sees Sarah.

He experienced some strange and different feelings whenever he saw her. What was it? What was happening to him? He didn't know, nor could he tell anyone about his feelings.

He wanted to express himself but didn't dare to do it.

"Come inside with me; I will show you my home," Grayson said while hesitating about what Sarah would reply.

"Okay, let's go". Sarah replied. To his surprise, she agreed in only a moment.

"Wow, the house is so big! Do you ever get lost here?". She smirked, walking over the hall, glaring her eyes everywhere.

Grayson's eyes were continuously staring at Sarah without even a blink. A rare softness was present in his gaze. She noticed but ignored the stare and continued walking.

"All of the time, I get lost." He said, smiling a little.

"Let's look at the library," Grayson said, showing her way toward the library.

"The library is cool. It has so many books". She said, running her fingers over the spine of books placed in racks.

"Wow, this is the first time I have seen someone interested in books rather than money and other stuff," Grayson said, looking in her eyes but from a distance.

"Books are better than everything in so many ways. Books tell better stories than money could ever tell". She said, a sense of confidence evident in her tone.

"Could you stay for dinner with me. Don't get me wrong, I am not asking you for a date. I am just asking for some good company". Grayson said chills went down his spine, and he was nervous.

A moment of pause between both of them. Sarah tried to figure out what Grayson actually wanted to say.

"Yes, I can stay for dinner. It's my pleasure to share a table with you". Sarah said, rubbing his hands on the back of her jeans, clearing the dust of books from her hands.

Grayson's eyes filled with excitement. He giggled after listening to what Sarah said.

"Let's go". Grayson said both of them left the library….
