Justin slowly moved closer, his steps hesitant but determined.
Eric noticed and immediately opened his arms, pulling him into a warm hug.
Justin:
"Yeah… Eric… at least let me put my shirt back on." 😤
Eric shook his head with a small smile:
"No need. You're safe with me." 😤
Justin exhaled, breaking the hug just enough to gather himself.
"Okay… wait. Let's go inside the blanket." 🥰
Eric followed without hesitation, curling up beside him.
Inside the blanket, they held each other tightly, each finding comfort in the other's presence. For the first time in days, they felt a moment of peace amidst all the chaos. Slowly, exhaustion overtook them, and they fell asleep in each other's arms.
Meanwhile, Megan peeked quietly into the room. Her eyes softened at the sight of Justin and Eric sleeping peacefully.
Megan (whispering):
"Finally… they're safe… and so comfortable. Looks like we already have a son-in-law in the house." 🥰

At the hospital, Amber was being treated carefully. Jonathan paced nervously, tears still streaking his face.

"She's… she's going to be okay, right?" 😭
The doctor emerged from the treatment room.
Mr. Devis:
"Doctor! Is she alright?" 😨
Doctor:
"Don't worry, Mr. Devis. She's stable. The vital organs weren't affected, and the wounds are manageable." 😊
Mr. Devis exhaled, relief flooding him.
"Thank you, doctor. Can we see her?"
Doctor:
"Yes, after we finish dressing her wounds."
Mr. Devis nodded, gratitude clear in his eyes.
"Thank you so much." 😊
Doctor:
"You're welcome, Mr. Devis. Take care of her."
With that, the doctor left, and the family prepared themselves to see Amber, hearts heavy but relieved.
