Megan was still reading from the ancient book, her voice trembling slightly.
Megan: "This curse… it activates when a person dies and is reborn into the same body. The main symbol… the sign that the curse has begun… is a black mark that spreads from the center of the chest across the body." 😶
She paused, and at that exact moment, a faint shimmer appeared on Justin's chest—a black mark flashing briefly. Joseph noticed it too. 😶
Amber: "Continue." 😐
Megan: "If the curse is left unchecked, the person who carries it… will die again." 😱
Joseph: "Gasp…!" 😱
Amber: (firmly) "Finish it." 😐
Megan: "To control the curse, to stop it from spreading…" 😶
Amber: (impatiently, voice sharp) "Say it!" 😠
Megan: "A pure soul… touching the cursed one can slow or reverse it." 😶
Joseph's eyes widened as he remembered—once, he had seen Amber touch Justin's chest, and the mark had begun to recede.
Joseph: "It's true… she did the same thing once." 😶
Amber inhaled deeply, her gaze steady.
Amber: "Read the rest." 😐
Megan: "To make it completely disappear, to save the person… one must… somehow undo the pain that hurt them the most…" 😶
Amber: (snapping, frustrated) "Megan! Read it properly! There must be more!" 😠
Megan: (nervously) "Sis… that's all that's written here…" 😱
Amber grabbed the book from Megan's hands, scanning the pages with sharp eyes. Then she froze.
Amber: 😠 "This page… it's missing!"
Megan: 😱 "What… missing?!"
Joseph: 😱
Amber's jaw tightened. The room fell into silence, the weight of the revelation pressing down on them all. Something critical about the curse had been hidden—or removed—leaving them with an incomplete truth.
Amber: (cold, determined) "If this is deliberate… someone doesn't want the William curse broken. And that means… the one who carries it is in immediate danger." 😐
The air grew heavier, shadows lengthening across the library. Everyone could feel it: the stakes had just gone from dangerous to deadly.
