Kai's POV
Ezra was staring at me with worried eyes. He wasn't saying anything, but I know he wants to say something.
"I…have to let go," I added and shut my eyes tightly.
Ezra remained silent. The atmosphere was cold, sorrowful, and lonely. But when I felt his hand caressing mine, I found the warmth of comfort. A friend who would stay by my side no matter what the situation is.
"Is this about Dante?" He asked gently.
Slowly, I shook my head. "No… I just think he's losing everything. Because of me."
"Kai," he groaned. "I don't personally know Zane, but I don't think he'd think that way."
"That's what I think," I said and lifted my face to him. "Look what happened to him."
He shook his head. "Still! This is the first time you ever let your heart and desires win. Can't you fight for it?"
"It's not easy, Ezra," I whispered weakly. "If the situation permits, I would. But it's the world that's against us."
