"I don't want to lose you again!"
Her voice echoed through the room.
Chloe's face was covered in tears. She looked so fragile and heartbroken, like she might break at any moment.
"Do you know how painful it is to wait for a thousand years?" she sobbed. "It's painful... so painful! I kept waiting for you, but you never came back. I even forgot your face and what you looked like... I don't want to go back to those days ever again. I want you to stay by my side! Wuaaah!"
Her crying grew even more intense.
The leader of the Falling Star Academy, respected by everyone, now looked vulnerable and helpless, like a little child who had kept her sadness buried deep inside her heart for far too long.
Nolan simply watched her cry in silence. It wasn't that he didn't want to comfort her; crying was the best way to release all the pent-up emotions she had been carrying.
