The aura erupting from Mathias' body surged like a volcano.
Powerful shockwaves rippled in all directions, shaking the pillars and walls of the hall.
Rocks flew violently, shattering parts of the walls on both sides.
Nolan raised his right arm to shield his face while activating his Eyes of Chaos to examine Mathias' body.
A surge of magical energy? What happened? How could he do that? Nolan was taken aback.
As the name suggested, a magic surge was a sudden increase in magic power. It could be caused by many factors, but the most common was when a mage drank a special potion capable of drastically boosting his strength.
But that was definitely not the case for Mathias. His internal organs were already severely damaged, and he barely had any magic power left.
That left only one possibility—all of this had to be connected to the mysterious token. Nolan couldn't be certain yet, but his gut told him it was the cause.
