Chapter 6 - [Help with the Flyers!]

Linc, who was aware of the commotion that was going on outside, was still wondering if he should take any action or not. Though before he could come to a conclusion, the door of the shop opened up, and the familiar red-haired figure appeared in front of him. Behind him, two players carrying a few books and a few more materials, walked sheepishly as they couldn't take their eyes off Falcon. They were the same players that he had given the experimental quest to in the morning.

"Place them there." Pointing at the desk near Linc, Falcon guided the two players to place the books down. He then took off his red leathered cloak and moved closer to the right wall where he hung it.

Following his command, the duo hastened towards the reception desk and carefully placed the books there. White Rabbit looked at Linc wondering if she should give the quest items to him, but then decided to wait for Sir Falcon to speak first. Especially, since he was seemingly the most important person here.

Falcon, reaching closer to the reception desk, looked at the bag of herbs in White Rabbit's pouch. His eyes narrowed for a few seconds before he reached a probable conclusion before turning to Linc and asking,

"You gave them tasks, Linc?"

Linc, unbothered by how Falcon came to know about the task, simply nodded and answered,

"Yeah, some herb gathering and stuff." (Linc)

Picking up the books, Linc then began moving towards the nearest bookshelf. Placing the books in the empty space, he continued," You both seem to have completed the task, huh? That's quite fast."

Too fast!!! Did they spend their entire morning searching for the herbs? Why?!! Linc was having a hard time understanding their speed and their priorities. Didn't they have anything else to do?

The duo, understanding the direction of the conversation, took out all the materials that they had to submit. And once all the things were in their place, neatly arranged on the reception table, a crisp sound of the quest being completed came with the duo gaining experience enough to level one more time.

A smile appeared on their faces as they both looked at each other gleaming a bit before they turned to Falcon who seemed to be about to say something.

"You both seemed to have gotten into trouble because of those kids back there. Hmmm… how about this? If you can help me promote the shop in the city, I will give you something in return to protect yourselves." Falcon said with a deep look on his face, his eyes seemingly calculating something.

Looking at the sudden quest, and all the more at the rewards, the duo's eyes widened enough to almost fall out of their eyes. They couldn't help but read the whole thing once again, especially the rewards which they read at least a few more times before excitedly nodding at Falcon, who simply chuckled observing the expressions that they were making.

Linc, who had already brought out the flyers from the drawer, placed them on the reception table. He was a pretty capable assistant, understanding the task at hand just from the conversation, he simply pushed the pile of flyers towards the duo.

I was wondering how and when we were going to circulate the flyers. Seems like Sir Falcon had already planned for this too. Linc nodded, understanding and adapting the thought process of Falcon even more. He then saw the pile of flyers vanish before entering into an item box, which probably belonged to the players.

They both, deciding not to waste even a second, bowed to Falcon before running away from the shop, leaving Falcon and Linc sighing for a few seconds. Looking at the way they behaved and how they were eager to do tedious and menial tasks for such little rewards, Linc couldn't help but mutter,

"Truly… they are slaves…"

"Didn't I tell you? Things will be interesting from now on." Falcon gave a knowing smile to Linc before he was reminded of something. Looking at the slightly tired look on Linc's face, he then spoke,

"I didn't know that you wanted to leave the shop."

"Ah! That… I haven't seen my family for a while now, so I wanted to see them." With slight hesitation, Linc spoke. While he was confident most of the time, he was especially timid when the topic was shifted to this. He fidgeted with his fingers for a few minutes trying to explain his reason in even more detail but before he could even start, Falcon interrupted him.

"If that's the situation then there is nothing we can do. Though can you help me out with two… ummm… three things? I would be truly grateful if you could do that. One of them might even benefit you."

A confused expression formed on Linc's face. Turning to Falcon he waited for him to explain more about the words he just spoke.

"First, find someone to replace you. To be exact, I need you to find one of these kids who seems more reliable than the others. It could be one of those kids who helped you, or anyone else. For now, just observe and report to me if you find someone you think you can trust enough." Falcon continued, his gaze observing Linc's changing expression. And with a slight smile forming at the corner of his lips, he added.

"The second is related to your hometown. Do you think we can open a shop in the Kingdom of Fire? I have been planning that, but if you are going there early, we can put that into motion as well."

A slight pause as he opened the small reception door and moved to the other side of the counter before briefing on the last point.

"And lastly… well, it's not much of a request, but when you cross the sea to reach the main Light Continent, take a few kids with you."

Among the three, the last one, which was seemingly the least meaningful, was actually the most important. It could help him spread the shop's fame to many other cities throughout the continent, and greatly promote the shop that he was trying to build the foundation for.

Linc heard the three requests, and the previously worried look vanished before a thoughtful expression formed on his face. Putting his hand on his chin, he closed his eyes as he analysed the pros and cons of the whole idea before reaching a positive conclusion.

"I don't think there would be any problem with the three requests."

Linc then took a deep sigh, before looking at Falcon before smiling and adding," honestly, I was worried that you would be angry that I am leaving when you are giving me so much. In fact, I was actually going to look for someone to watch over here, even if you had said nothing."

It was the least I could do after you had saved my life. Linc added internally.

"Excuse me. Can you give me an iron armour and an iron sword?" A voice sounded from the shop's door and a player slowly moved inside the shop. A few more followed behind him, each carefully analysing Falcon and then the weapons that the shop was selling. Each of them carried a blue coloured flyer. One of the same flyers that the duo took to spread throughout the city.

"Sure. Linc, handle them well, okay? I am counting on you." Falcon spoke before moving inside the warehouse, while Linc nodded at him with a smile before turning to the players and speaking,

"1 Iron armour and 1 iron sword coming up. You have the flier? All right, that would be 140 iron coins." (Linc)

Inside the warehouse there were dozens of things that Falcon had prepared for the players, things including events, games, items, tasks and quests that could keep the players occupied for at least a year to come. This was something that he had been preparing for sometime after coming to a proper conclusion of his goals.

All right. With this, the first phase has finally begun. Falcon thought with a deep expression before a smile formed on his face. He then erased his presence completely and began moving according to the plan he had set.

[LittleKid: Have you heard of the special offer at Falcon's Weapon Shop?]

[Anonymous1: Yeah! Those two players who were with that owner were distributing fliers. I think they got some sort of quest regarding that!]

[IamZero0191: Already? Damn! And here I was trying to level up all the time!]

[LittleKid: I heard a similar offer is going on in the Everyday Arrays Shop in Border Town and other starter towns. Plus, there are some sort of training areas for players to grow.]

[LeenaFan001: Seems like a beginner's event.]

[IamZero0191: Guess so. All the players were going crazy over it, though. It is bound to give a boost to them over the others even though I am going to go there after reaching level 10. ]

[LittleKid: Already level 9?!! Damn. You are even faster than beta testers. Or wait? Are you one?!]

[IamZero0191: *Wink* It's a secret.]
