Chapter 880: To Better Develop Labrynth, Cyber Style Joins In

Due to (Labrynth Archfiend)'s own effect, each distinct Normal Trap Card increases its Attack by 400 points. Unbeknownst to Bastion, the sole monster on Chumley's Field had already achieved an Attack power surpassing (Blue-Eyes White Dragon). It was only when Chumley's turn began that Bastion finally noticed this.
'Its Attack has already reached 3200 points, and if the number of Trap Cards continues to increase, it will keep rising. I haven't forgotten the Trap Card that was just Set.' 'That guy has so many cards Set in his Backrow, they should be activated soon, right?!'
His gaze drifted to the Mysterious Person beside him. But although four cards were Set, after Chumley drew his card, that person did not Activate any of them.
"Activate my Set Card in the Backrow, (Necro Fusion)! I Banish face-down monsters from my Graveyard as Fusion Material and Fusion Summon a Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck. The Monster Fusion Summoned by this Effect cannot Attack this Turn."
Pressing the button to Activate his Set Card, as expected, one of the two Set Cards in Chumley's Backrow was another Normal Trap Card. This meant that after this card was Sent to Graveyard by Chumley, the Attack of his (Labrynth Archfiend) on the Field would increase again.
But before that, Bastion asked, puzzled, "Banish monsters from your Graveyard?"
To his knowledge, the only known Monster Card in Chumley's Graveyard was that one (Infernoid Tierra).
Answering his confusion were two cards with purple borders that Chumley took from his Graveyard. This colored border signifies Fusion Monsters. 'Were they cards that were Sent to the Graveyard from the Extra Deck by (Infernoid Tierra)'s Effect earlier?'
"Previously, (Infernoid Tierra) used its Effect to Send to Graveyard these two cards from my Extra Deck—(Cyberdark Dragon) and (Cyber End Dragon). Now, with (Necro Fusion)'s Effect, I Banish them face-down."
Holding two Machine-Type Monsters that were not just slightly related, but completely irrelevant to a so-called "pure (Labrynth)" Deck, Chumley took out a Fusion Monster Card and said, "Witness the Darkness of Cyber Style, the most profound Cyberdark Style!"
Chumley, who was using a "pure (Labrynth)" Deck, slammed the card in his Hand down: "I'm too lazy to think of a Summon chant. I'll simply Fusion Summon the invincible (Cyberdark End Dragon) with the most noble Fusion!"
The symbol of Outer Cyber Style—(Cyber End Dragon)—and the symbol of Cyberdark Style—(Cyberdark Dragon)—the figures of the two Monsters overlapped, combining to form a powerful Monster.
This was the (Cyberdark End Dragon) that was previously Summoned by Chancellor Sheppard when Chumley challenged the Cyber Style Secret Arts. Now, it proudly made its appearance on Chumley's Field via the Effect of (Necro Fusion)!

"No, although it does appear as a Normal Monster, (Conquistador of the Golden Land) has another Effect if (Eldlich the Golden Lord) is present on my Field."
As he spoke, the Mysterious Person pointed a finger at (Cyberdark End Dragon) on Chumley's Field. For some reason, watching that rather seductive pointing gesture, Chumley's sense of déjà vu intensified. He could now be certain he definitely knew the person across from him. 'But how could that guy...'
"(Conquistador of the Golden Land)'s second Effect: Destroy one Face-up Position card on the Field. This Effect Does Not Target. The one I naturally choose is the recently Special Summoned (Cyberdark End Dragon)."
(Conquistador of the Golden Land), which appeared by Chaining to (Cyberdark End Dragon)'s Special Summon, swung the rapier in its Hand at the former. Golden markings suddenly appeared on the ground between them, rapidly spreading, and in an instant, they climbed onto (Cyberdark End Dragon)'s body.
"Alright! What good is high Attack if it can just be Destroyed?!" Bastion said triumphantly upon seeing this, but found that Chumley and Kaiba across from him both wore calm expressions.
"Although it's my first time seeing this Monster, 'Cyber Style'? I've heard of it, but I didn't expect it to possess such immense Power," Kaiba said casually, looking at Chumley. "Hayato, what Effect does that Monster have? I don't think you'd casually bring out a Fodder Monster just to bait your Opponent's Set Card."

Although (Cyberdark End Dragon) couldn't Attack this Turn, it had at least baited one Card Destruction from the Mysterious Person's Backrow. Chumley then changed the Battle Position of (Labrynth Archfiend) on his Duel Disk and Declared: "I change (Labrynth Archfiend) to Attack Position, and enter my Battle Phase!"

For one, it was best to avoid losing Life Points in this Darkness Game. His (Buster Blader) was in Attack Position, while (Eldlich the Golden Lord) was in Defense Position. And as an Eastern saying goes, "Better a dead friend than a dead me."
On the other hand, Bastion, also using Zombie-Type Monsters, knew that his teammate's (Eldlich the Golden Lord), as a Zombie-Type Monster, naturally possessed the Zombie-Type's iconic "resurrection" ability.
The golden lich, hearing that Chumley was going to Attack it with (Labrynth Archfiend), narrowed the four crimson eyes visible beneath its gold-cast Mask. Extending his hand again, the Mysterious Person naturally wouldn't Target (Cyberdark End Dragon) with an Effect again. The Target of (Guardian of the Golden Land)'s Effect was, naturally, (Labrynth Archfiend), which was about to Attack.
Although its Attack had increased to 3600 points due to its Own Effect, if it took this hit, (Labrynth Archfiend)'s Attack would be Nullified instantly. Moreover, (Guardian of the Golden Land)'s Effect was not merely a One Turn effect.

Even though next Turn, his (Labrynth Archfiend) on the Field, in Attack Position and with Nullified Attack, would face Bastion's Attack, Chumley didn't even consider him a threat, but was only thinking about the Mysterious Person using the "Golden Land" Deck.
