## Chapter 215: Millennium Necklace
"Is this stone tablet depicting me and Kaiba?" Yugi asked Ishizu, a hint of uncertainty in his voice.
Facing their doubts, Ishizu calmly shook her head, as if she had long anticipated them asking this question:
"The stone tablet depicts a battle that occurred three thousand years ago, between a Priest and a Pharaoh. The two monsters you see on the stone tablet are the prototypes for Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Dark Magician from the Duel Monsters created by Pegasus."
Upon hearing Ishizu's explanation, Kaiba merely looked with suspicion at the Priest on the stone tablet, the one resembling him, corresponding to the white dragon.
Yugi, meanwhile, stared absentmindedly at the Pharaoh with the spiky hairstyle.
"In the legends of Egypt, the Pharaoh is the incarnation of a god on Earth, an existence that controls all things and phenomena, possessing the ability to command the Egyptian God Cards, reigning supreme over all above and below the heavens." As she spoke, Ishizu's tone became somewhat agitated, as if she were proud of this legend,
"And the stone tablet depicts that legendary Pharaoh, who is in fact, the other Yugi hidden within the Millennium Puzzle."
Ishizu's gaze was fixed intently on Yugi, making Yami Yugi, who had manifested at that moment, slightly stunned: "I am a Pharaoh?"
"Hmph, spouting nonsense. Don't tell me you're going to say I'm that Priest, or his reincarnation?" Although Kaiba said this, his long-held scientific worldview had begun to waver slightly, yet he resisted accepting such unscientific notions. "The joke stops here!"
Looking at the obstinate Kaiba, Chumley couldn't help but sigh helplessly. It was Kaiba, after all. When it came to stubbornness of belief, this guy was second to none in the entire Yu-Gi-Oh! World. Even if you caught a ghost and put it in front of him, he would still explain its existence using various scientific concepts he could comprehend.
And then he would build a machine to travel to the Underworld and duel the Pharaoh.
To educate such a Kaiba about the truly existing legends of Egypt, Ishizu certainly had her work cut out for her. Thinking this, Chumley glanced at Ishizu.
Noticing Chumley's sympathetic gaze, Ishizu returned a smile, though it was somewhat obscured by her veil. Seeing Kaiba about to turn and leave, Ishizu had no choice but to skip the Pharaoh's legends she had intended to continue introducing, fast-forwarding to the main reason for inviting the three of them.
"As I said before, the Pharaoh possesses the power to command the Egyptian God Cards, and with this divine power, controls all things above and below the heavens. Like other archaeological stone tablets, the monsters depicted on this stone tablet were also made into Duel Monster Cards by Pegasus."
Ishizu said, raising her hand to point at Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes White Dragon: "These are the Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes White Dragon of the Pharaoh and the Priest, whose destinies are intertwined in battle. As for the gods of Duel Monsters, they are Obelisk the Tormentor, the symbol of the 'Obelisk'; Slifer the Sky Dragon, the symbol of the 'Underworld'; and The Winged Dragon of Ra, the incarnation of the Sun God."
"These are the three strongest, rarest, and most special Duel Monster Cards, collectively known as the Egyptian God Cards. However, after Pegasus created the Egyptian God Cards using this stone tablet as inspiration, he likely incurred the wrath of the gods, drawing down their angry Divine Punishment."
"Everyone involved in creating the Egyptian God Cards, and everyone who came into contact with them, inexplicably died one after another; none survived except Pegasus himself. Realizing that the Egyptian God Cards were great existences that mere mortals could not control, Pegasus entrusted them to the Egyptian Antiquities Administration for safekeeping, until two of them were stolen by the Rare Hunters."
Unbelievable, dueling has its risks, and card printing also has its risks. Chumley muttered to himself, his gaze wandering over the surrounding artifacts, searching for something slightly more interesting. A mummy not far away caught his attention. For some reason, Chumley wanted to approach and take a closer look, but considering Ishizu was still earnestly explaining, he held back.
"You just said two of them were stolen?" Kaiba precisely ignored everything else Ishizu said, focusing only on her last sentence. "Does that mean you still have the last so-called God Card in your hand, right?"
"Yes, Kaiba, the stolen cards were Ra and Osiris. The third card, Obelisk the Tormentor, is still in my hand. However, you don't need to duel to take this card, because I intended to give this card to you to use."
To Kaiba's surprised expression, Ishizu pulled out the blue-bordered card from her person. Although it was just a card not used in a duel, as soon as Ishizu took it out, the entire exhibition hall was enveloped by an ancient, oppressive aura.
"This is Obelisk the Tormentor?!" Kaiba took the card, feeling a strange sense of familiarity from it, much like the feeling he got when he drew Blue-Eyes White Dragon during a duel.
What he didn't know was that the name Obelisk means 'obelisk,' which is both a symbol of worship for the Sun God Ra and a symbol of Seto, god of power. And Kaiba's previous life was Priest Seto, who bore a god's name himself.
As for Yugi, he was more interested in Ishizu's "quick answer" than the Obelisk card Kaiba had just received. Seizing the opportunity, he asked Ishizu: "Ishizu, I remember you saying that many people suffered Divine Punishment even if they merely touched the Egyptian God Cards?"
"Yes, all who dared to touch the body of a God suffered Divine Punishment. Only the owners of the Millennium Items have the ability to be exempt from Divine Punishment, which is how Pegasus escaped." Ishizu nodded.
"In that case, Ishizu, are you also an owner of a Millennium Item?" Yugi asked, but his gaze was already fixed on the golden ornament hanging around Ishizu's neck, having already found his answer.
Ishizu nodded, her hand touching the golden ornament resting on her collarbone: "That's right, I am the user of the Millennium Necklace. Each of the Millennium Items has different functions. The Millennium Necklace represents the ability of Future Sight."
Upon hearing Ishizu's words, Kaiba scoffed: "A crazy woman talking nonsense! How can anyone in the world have Future Sight? The so-called Millennium Items are just lies you fabricated! If only owners of the Millennium Items can use God Cards, then why am I perfectly fine?"
Because you're a Millennium Card Player, you fool.
