## Chapter 211: It's My Big Butt!
A magic mirror appeared on Hayato's Field, drawing the spirits of the dead from the Graveyard.
But to everyone's surprise, the monsters absorbed into (Dragon's Mirror) were not the (Curse of Dragon) and (Gaia The Fierce Knight) that had just been sent to the Graveyard, but several Dragon-Type monsters that had entered the Graveyard earlier due to *Power Wall*'s effect.
(Baby Dragon), (Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress), (Dark King of the Abyss), (Masked Dragon), and the recently sent to the Graveyard (Curse of Dragon).
"There are five Dragon-Type Monsters!? Is the Dragon-Type Monster meant to be Fusion Summoned this time...!" Yugi looked with great surprise at the great dragon slowly crawling out of the (Dragon's Mirror).
The power of five attributes formed five grotesque and terrifying dragon heads. The (Five-Headed Dragon), which once served as the avatar of the Big Five in the game world and caused Yugi and his friends a lot of trouble, was actually Summoned by Hayato?!
"Rejoice, for this is the ultimate terror of Duel Monsters! The benevolent, the good, the supreme, the mighty, the most revered demonic dragon, named (Five-Headed Dragon)! This very moment is the ultimate time!"
"Roar!" As if responding to Hayato's proclamation, (Five-Headed Dragon) also let out a roar to the sky.
[(Five-Headed Dragon)][Level 12/DARK Attribute]
[Dragon-Type/Fusion/Effect]
[5000/5000]
Level, as a concept, doesn't fully determine a monster's strength; for instance, a Level 1 (Bunilla) is stronger in all aspects than a Level 3 (Poisonous Cobra). However, Level/Rank can, to some extent, prove a monster's standing.
And the Level 12 (Five-Headed Dragon) undoubtedly stands at the pinnacle of Duel Monsters, even classified as the highest UR-Rank in the system's rarity division.
Of course, getting one-shot by (Dragon Master Knight) is another story.
This card was certainly not something Hayato had exchanged for with the just over 10,000 DP points he had painstakingly accumulated in the System Shop; he wasn't that extravagant. After Hayato, Yugi, and Kaiba jointly defeated (Five-Headed Dragon) in the final stage of the DM game, perhaps because the opponent was no longer an NPC from an online game but a boss played by a real person, or perhaps because the entire DM was considered a Duel, in any case, Hayato received a "Duel Victory" settlement.
Although the DP Points System only begrudgingly gave 800 DP points, like alms to a beggar, it seemed as compensation, the defeated Big Five dropped a full three cards for Hayato—one (Lord of D.), one (Polymerization), and this (Five-Headed Dragon).
The final boss of the grand DM online game only dropped these three cards; it was unlucky, but not entirely unlucky; it was lucky, but not entirely lucky.
All in all, Hayato obtained the (Five-Headed Dragon) card, and because it was the system-dropped version, a real card version rather than an anime version, although it lost the "Fatal Five-Strike" ability which was closer to rule bending, in exchange, its DEF increased to a respectable 5000, equal to its ATK, which was better than nothing.
"It's the legendary monster, (Five-Headed Dragon)?!" Compared to Yugi and the other onlookers and Hayato the user, Duke Devlin, who was Dueling Hayato, faced this massive fiend dragon directly and could feel its terror even more. Every pore on his body felt like it was closing, and his breathing became heavy, as if just a little more effort would incur the Dragon King's wrath.
"Last turn, you specifically changed (Emerald Knight) to Attack Position, intending to defeat me in one go, but you didn't expect the monster I had Set to be (Unhappy Maiden), which can instantly end the Battle Phase, did you?" Hayato said, raising his palm. (Five-Headed Dragon)'s five heads opened, each gathering a ball of energy, ready to strike.
"Too bad, this Duel ends here, Duke Devlin!" With a downward flick of his palm, (Five-Headed Dragon) launched an attack against Duke Devlin's (Emerald Knight) in Attack Position on the Field. "Destroy that little bug! Heaven and Earth Roar — Super Beast Heart!!!"
The five-colored energy cannon converged into a single blast, directly striking the weakest point on Duke Devlin's Field — the (Emerald Knight), with only 1000 ATK. If this attack succeeded, not only would Duke Devlin's Life Points, which were only 700, be wiped out, but even if he had a full 4000 LP, they would be instantly cleared!
"Boom!"
A surging energy vortex enveloped Duke Devlin's Field, expanding into a regular hemisphere. Such a powerful attack, it seemed even a god would fall here, wouldn't they?
But Hayato frowned, simply because there was no change in Duke Devlin's Life Points on the scoreboard, and even that (Emerald Knight) remained completely unharmed?
The raging energy gradually subsided, revealing a barrier covering the (Emerald Knight)'s body. With a distortion, the barrier gradually collapsed and shrank into a black dot, taking the (Emerald Knight) from Duke Devlin's Field?
"(Destiny Travel)'s effect is: when an opponent's monster declares an attack, negate the attack of 1 opponent's monster, then until the next Standby Phase, banish from the game the monster that was the attack target." Duke Devlin said triumphantly, "What a shame, Hayato, fate is still on my side."
"Mere fate, don't talk as if you can see the future." Hayato snorted coldly. "If fate truly stands behind you, doesn't that mean I will be the enemy of fate?"
"Tell me, Duke Devlin, did fate tell you I would activate this card?!"
Under Duke Devlin's horrified gaze, (Five-Headed Dragon) on Hayato's Field, which had just performed an attack, moved again. Each of its five heads held an energy orb even more powerful than before, clearly about to launch another attack!
"(Double Up Chance)'s effect is: when my monster's attack is negated, that monster has one more chance to launch an attack. Furthermore, its ATK is doubled!"
[(Five-Headed Dragon)][ATK 5000 → 10000]
"This is the final attack, Duke Devlin! I'm returning your words to you!" Hayato shouted, "Taste the bitter sorrow of defeat right here! (Five-Headed Dragon)'s double attack!"
Facing the impending attack, Duke Devlin somewhat frantically activated a Set card: "Activate Trap Card, (Divine Spear)! I will recover damage equal to (Five-Headed Dragon)'s ATK!"
"And, because (Divine Ghost Ogre) previously rolled a die roll of 2 twice, it gains the ability to not be destroyed by battle or effect destruction!"
"I won't lose this Duel so easily!"
A surging tide of energy once again swept across the Field. After the attack, the (Divine Ghost Ogre), with its tattered and battered armor, still stood firm on Duke Devlin's Field, successfully surviving (Five-Headed Dragon)'s attack.
"But you'll still take battle damage, and that's enough," Hayato said blandly.
[Duke Devlin: 700 → 10700 → 3500 LP]
Due to Hayato secretly imbuing (Five-Headed Dragon)'s attack with dark energy, Duke Devlin's Life Points, which had initially increased, still plummeted. Dropping from 10700 to 3500, the loss of a full 7200 Life Points left his face twisted in an ugly frown. However, despite such intense pain, he still did not let go of his obsession.
"You failed, Hayato! You kept saying you'd defeat me this turn, but I'm still alive!"
Hearing this, (Five-Headed Dragon) snorted disdainfully, seemingly annoyed that it had attacked twice yet still failed to deal with this troublesome bug.
Hayato, however, shook his head and activated the last two cards in his Hand: "No, I said that was the final strike. Although I couldn't defeat you directly, causing you damage is already enough."
"My last two cards are (Meteor of Destruction) and (Spiritual Ectoplasm). I guess you've researched my Duel data, right?"
Duke Devlin subconsciously recited the effects of the two cards in Hayato's Hand: "(Spiritual Ectoplasm) can, during the End Phase, tribute one monster to deal half of that monster's ATK as damage to the opponent. And (Meteor of Destruction)'s effect is to reduce the opponent's Life Points by 1000 if they have 3000 or more Life Points... M-Masaka!"
At this, not only Duke Devlin, but even (Five-Headed Dragon), which had just been swaggering with an "I am number one in the world" attitude, became agitated.
"Hayato, what are you doing? Your monster is crying!"
"Roar~!"
"I haven't shown my full power yet! I still have a chance to defeat you!"
"Roar, roar!!"
At this moment, (Five-Headed Dragon) and Duke Devlin were perfectly aligned in their stance; neither wanted to see Hayato play out that combo in his Hand.
Unfortunately, once Hayato set his mind on something, no one could change his thoughts.
"Activate (Meteor of Destruction) to deduct 1000 Life Points from you, then after activating (Spiritual Ectoplasm), my turn ends." Pushing up his non-existent glasses, Hayato smiled like some super strategist, giving (Five-Headed Dragon) goosebumps. "You've been enhanced, go, (Five-Headed Dragon)! This is a necessary sacrifice."
"Boom!"
At that moment, (Five-Headed Dragon) turned into light.
[Duke Devlin: 3500 LP → 0]
Watching Duke Devlin, defeated by (Five-Headed Dragon)'s self-destruct attack, and even knocked directly off the Duel Stage because the impact simulation system was set to maximum, Yugi was half joyous for Hayato's victory and Joey's regained freedom, and half sighed at Hayato's indescribably strange way of winning the Duel: "That Hayato, he's still up to his old tricks."
"I saw such a powerful monster like (Five-Headed Dragon), I thought Hayato had changed his Dueling style," Tristan also laughed helplessly. "It really is a rather standard O. Henry ending. Unexpected, yet within reason."
Clearly, Hayato playing a Duel and then Tributing his soul, soul, and more soul to the Graveyard has become a signature move, fully accepted by Yugi and the others.
[Author's Note] Cheers! The 5000 DEF "big butt," no, the Super Dragon-Type (Five-Headed Dragon) left the Field in just one chapter, setting a new record for light-speed sacrifice, and becoming the protagonist's new record for self-destruction damage. Confetti~
[Author's Note] This part of the story quickly concludes, then it's a fast-forward to the beginning of most Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfiction — Battle City.
[Author's Note] Finally reached this part. What a long road it's been (referring to the DM online game arc where subscriptions dropped).
