Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - Gil

Gil was a prodigy. He was the child of a wealthy family, and he was good at everything he did, excelling at academics and sports. However, he had a massive ego. He would always boast about how great he was, and get offended when no one would acknowledge his presence. That was, until one fateful day, he found the sword Gilgamesh outside his front door.

Gil: ...What is this? Is this a prank or something?

Gil looked at the sword intently, looking around for cameras. As he reached out to the sword, a connection opened in his mind, and he heard the voice within the sword.

Gilgamesh: Kid. Hey, kid?

The consciousness within the sword snapped his fingers, and Gil was jolted out of his shock.

Gil: Wha- what is this?! Who are you?!

Gilgamesh: That's no way to treat a king, you know. No matter. The days of kings and queens are over, so let us speak as equals. I am Gilgamesh, King of Uruk, and the voice within the sword you hold right now.

Gil held the sword, looking at it more closely. The hilt was golden. The handguard was golden, and the blade was black and red all over. Cuneiforms were written on it. Clearly, this sword was OLD.

Gil: ...Why...are you here, Gilgamesh?

Gilgamesh: There is danger lurking. You and I are to prepare for it. I have chosen you as the one to wield me in battle.

Gil: Why me?

Gilgamesh: The adults of now are too closed-minded. If I presented myself to one, they would not believe me and think that they were crazy. I have chosen you because one, you were the most compatible one, and two, it amused me.

Gil: That's no way to choose a wielder.

Gilgamesh: Who cares? Go back inside, people are looking at you.

Gil blinks and looks around. People are looking at him holding the sword. Embarrased, he goes back into his house, shutting the door behind him.
