Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: The Alien Observer, A Convenient Distraction

Superman, a beacon of truth and justice, couldn't ignore the escalating turmoil surrounding LexCorp. The anonymous exposés, the sudden regulatory scrutiny – it all felt too orchestrated, too efficient for mere coincidence. He kept a watchful eye, his super-hearing picking up whispers of discontent within Luthor's empire.

During a tense press conference where Luthor vehemently denied all allegations, a "freak accident" involving a malfunctioning LexCorp holographic display threatened to engulf the crowd in fiery debris. Before Superman could intervene, a shimmering emerald shield, almost invisible to the naked eye, deflected the blast. It vanished instantly.

Superman's gaze swept the area, his enhanced vision pinpointing Michael Queen standing near the back, feigning polite shock. Later, the Man of Steel approached him, a hint of suspicion in his voice. "Mr. Queen, that energy… it appeared just in time. Did you see anything?"

Michael blinked innocently. "Just a strange flicker, Superman. Perhaps some feedback from the holographic projectors? Luthor's tech… well, it's certainly cutting edge, prone to the occasional… spontaneous combustion, wouldn't you say?"

Superman's brow furrowed. Spontaneous combustion of an energy field? Highly improbable. But he had no concrete evidence. "Be careful, Mr. Queen. Metropolis can be unpredictable."

Michael offered a reassuring smile. "Duly noted, Superman. Though I find a little unpredictability keeps things… interesting."
