Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

DxD: Dragon's Bloodline.

Chapter 34.

After seeing off Rias's peerage, except Akeno of course, Ryu got a call on his phone.

'Playboy Uncle' it read.

So he picked it up, "Hey, what's up? Uncle?"

"Yoooo!!! My beloved nephew! I'm in Kuoh, care for a quick meeting?"

"You're here?" Ryu asked, a bit surprised, "Did the Satans allow it?"

"Of course, that's one of the reasons why me and you got to have a little chat... it's important."

"...Sure, come to my place, you have the coordinates yes?"

"Hell yeah!"

Then Azazel hung up the phone.

Ryu turned towards Akeno, "My uncle Azazel is coming."

"Oh! Do you need some privacy? It sounded... important."

"Probably not, he didn't mention anything regarding privacy..."

A yellow circle glowed in the middle of the room.

A rather tall person appeared, black hair with blonde streaks, a goatee, and a very good physical build.

He wore a leather jacket, black pants and some boots.

"Hey there Ryu... Oh! Hello to you as well Akeno!" Azazel greeted them both with a smile.

"Hello, Lord Azazel." Akeno greeted as well with a bow.

Azazel waved his hand, "No need for that."

Then he took a seat on the sofa, and leaned back. while Ryu and Akeno sat in front of him.

"I'm all ears, uncle," Ryu said, leaning forward a bit in the chair.

Azazel rubbed his face with his hand and let out an exhausted sigh, "So... first things first... I managed to decipher Kokabiel's code."

Ryu's eyes widened then his expression turned serious, "Tell me."

"'Pure, once pure and the impure must join together to stand a chance' that was the message he left us. Pure means Angels, so the Impure must mean the devils... and once pure, must mean us, the fallen angels."

Azazel shifted in his seat, leaning forward.

"So... Ryu's father wanted to see the three factions allied?" Akeno questioned from the side, "But he almost started a war... that's strange."

Azazel's gaze turned towards her, "Exactly, Kokabiel was captured by something... or someone, and then he was made into a puppet, this message... his actions, all served a purpose..."

"Not someone, it was an organization." Ryu spoke, anger seeping into his voice, "I met one of the fuckers... he's someone connected to my childhood."

Azazel's eyes sharpened, "And? Did he say anything else?"

"Nothing much other than that."

"...I'll look into it soon enough." Azazel paused and continued what he was saying earlier, "...The three factions as we know, have all been mortal enemies ever since they were created, ever since I came into existence and Lucifer became a devil. There hasn't been peace between the three factions... except this one time, during the rampage of the heavenly dragons, where all three sides allied with each other to combat the two."

Ryu's eyes narrowed and he asked, "Where are you going with this..."

Azazel softly smiled, "Kokabiel did the same thing, by being a 'Great Threat' he forced the three different factions to ally. You, my beloved nephew, the representative of the Fallen. Rias Gremory, the representative of the Devils and of course... those two exorcists, who represent the Church and Heaven."

Ryu's eyes widened, as the bits and pieces clicked together.

"His plan, showed the entire world that the three factions COULD attain peace... and fortunately, peace talks between us three have long been going on... but no real result was showing, however Kokabiel's plan just confirmed that it was feasible."

Ryu leaned back in his chair, "...Damn you, dad..." He muttered, with a couple tears streaming down his face, however... on his face, there was a proud smile plastered on it.

Seeing his tears, Akeno placed her delicate hand on top of his, and rubbed it with her thumb a couple times.

Of course this didn't escape Azazel, he smirked and winked at Akeno who blushed and looked away.

"Ryu, there's another thing...actually... two things, I want to talk to you about."

Ryu raised his head, noticing the serious gaze in Azazel's eyes.

"Sure... what is it?"

Azazel took a deep breath, his face changing expressions rapidly.

Whatever he wanted to say... it was difficult even for him.

"Ryu..." He started, his voice was low, which didn't fit his character at all, "Ryu... Can you... be my successor?"

Ryu tilted his head sideways, confused by the question, "Successor? What do you mean by that?"

"...Will you take my seat? The seat of the Governor of Grigori?"

Ryu's eyes widened at his words.

Same with Akeno's, her eyes swiftly darted towards Ryu.

"I know... I'm asking a lot of you but... if something happens to me, or if... I become unable to continue my duties... will you take the position?"

"...I would but... I'm not a Fallen Angel, will the others be okay with it?"

Azazel's eyes widened, his head snapped up towards him and a smile of pure joy appeared on his face.

"HELL YEAH! THEY WOULD! IF I SAY YOU'RE THE GOVERNOR... THEN YOU'RE THE GOVERNOR! NO ONE'S GONNA SAY JACKSHIT!"

Ryu was taken aback by his uncle's sudden enthusiasm, "Then sure, I'll take up the position if you're unable to do it anymore."

"Man... I'm glad to hear that," Azazel muttered, then he remembered the other thing, "Oh right, Ryu the other thing I want to talk about."

"Which is?"

"Tomorrow, there's the visiting thing in Kuoh Academy, if you remember? Yeah, the big dogs of all three factions will be there... and the peace talks between the factions will happen there as well, so... make sure you're not late, you and Vali along with a few other friends are required to be there."

"Tomorrow?!" Ryu shouted, "The peace talks are already happening?!"

"Yeah? I mentioned that it was a long time coming no?"

Ryu froze, "...Right, must've slipped my mind."

"Anyways... that was all I wanted to talk to you about, I'll be taking my leave now. See you tomorrow, make sure you don't sleep in or I'll send Vali over."

"Don't you worry." Ryu reassured him.

Azazel nodded, and a magic circle began glowing underneath his foot.

"Oh right... sleep early today, don't have TOO much fun... little love birds."

And then he disappeared.

Ryu stood there stupefied, his face completely blank.

"...That old piece of shit..." Ryu muttered underneath his breath.

Ryu turned to Akeno and apologized, "Sorry about that..."

Akeno stood there with a blush, and... a peculiar look on her face.

"...W-What do you say we head to bed now?"

Ryu gulped, his mind connecting the hints...

Next day.

The sun came up and it was time for a school day, Ryu woke up groggily.

He glanced down at the weight that was pressed onto his chest.

Akeno was sleeping on top of him.

Completely naked, like him.

He closed his eyes, remembering the previous night where... they did some 'Cardio', if you catch my drift.

A smile unknowingly crept up on Ryu's face.

"...What a girl..." He muttered.

He laid there for a while, not moving at all, and after some time Akeno also woke up.

She glanced up at Ryu, and smiled then crawled up to his face and kissed him.

"Good morning Hubby," She spoke sweetly.

Ryu's heart almost melted, "Good morning... Wifey."

Akeno giggled, and laid her head on top of his chest again.

"What a night..." Akeno muttered, "You... you're really... energetic."

Ryu chuckled, "What? Didn't think I'd be able to keep up?"

Akeno giggled, "To be honest yeah, it was a pleasant surprise... and a very welcome one."

"I aim to please," Ryu said, "Though we should probably get up, we can continue... later, if you want to."

"...Why not now? We can... shower together as well," Akeno offered with a smile.

"Oh boy..." Ryu muttered, "I'll take that deal."

The two of them got up and went into the bathroom then they took a 'shower' together.

Showered each other in bodily fluids.

Lmao.

After that tomfoolery they dressed up, had breakfast, packed their bags and hit the road.

Then they went into the school grounds, with their arms interlocked with each other's.

Let's just say a lot of tears were shed that day from the student populace.

Despite it being pretty well known that Akeno and Ryu were close, some still thought perhaps they had a chance, girls and some guys thought they had a chance with Ryu... while boys and some girls thought the opposite of course.

Too bad, their dreams were crushed.

For the second time in these two days, Ryu felt genuine discomfort.

The two of them made it into their class, and took a seat.

"Good morning you two," Rias greeted them with a smile, "Everything is going well I hope?"

"Good morning Rias, and of course everything is going well... a little too well in fact," Akeno said, glancing up at Ryu with a smile.

Rias's eyes widened she realized it, then she giggled, "Congratulations you two! It was about time!"

"...Thanks? I guess..." Ryu said, a blush forming on his cheeks.

Bad news though, Akeno saw that blush and the bashful or shy expression, whichever you wanna call it.

"Awww! Aren't you just adorable?" She said standing on her tiptoes and kissing him on the cheek.

"So different from when we were in bed last night..." Akeno whispered to him, "You're shy when I publicly display my affection huh? How very cute..."

Under the stunned gazes of the entire class, Akeno showed just how affectionate she was with Ryu.

Ryu blushed heavily like a tomato, while Akeno played with his cheeks, pulling them apart and close as if it were a plushie or something.

*RINGGGG*

The bell rang, and the entire class was pulled out of their thoughts, and they took their seats.

Though some sniffled audibly.

"Settle down class!" The teacher came in and so began the hellish lesson.

After school finished, Ryu was walking home alone.

Akeno had to go with Rias, cause you know... plot convenience.

Shitty joke aside, they had some business together.

They got out of the school building onto the field, when they did that they saw Issei and Asia talking to someone.

A silver-haired guy.

Ryu recognized who it was immediately and jogged towards them with his hands in his pockets.

"...Don't worry, I won't be starting anything here at the school... even if I did..." the silver-haired guy's eyes moved from Issei to Ryu who was just a couple steps behind Issei.

"Sup pretty boy Vali, what are you doing here?" Ryu asked, slinging an arm around Issei, "And why're you bothering my good buddy Issei?"

"Ryu!" Issei was startled by Ryu's sudden appearance, and so was Asia.

"Ryu," Vali nodded his head at him, "Just the muscle-brained fool I'm looking for."

Ryu tilted his head, "Why're you looking for me?"

"No reason really," Vali averted his gaze from him.

Ryu smiled then walked up to Vali, and quickly wrapped hi arm around him.

"Aww! Vali-boy, did you miss me or something?" Ryu asked, rubbing his head with his free arm, "It's okay to be honest! No one's gonna give you lip over it."

"Let me go you damn oaf!" Vali pushed Ryu away, although with a little struggle, "I don't miss anybody, and even if I did, it definitely wouldn't be your ugly ass."

Ryu turned to Issei with a smile and pointed his finger at Vali as if saying 'get a load of this guy.'

Issei stifled a giggle.

"Point your finger at me again and I'll break it," Vali threatened from behind, his aura flaring just a tiny bit.

Ryu didn't mind that, "I guess you're at that rebellious age..." he muttered.

"We're not that far apart in age!" Vali raised his voice, a tad bit further proving Ryu's point.

Issei watched Vali loose his cool and couldn't help but wipe his eyes, was this still the same level-headed and cool looking guy from earlier?

Asia was bewildered as well.

Ryu laughed, and then he wiped his eyes, "Alright jokes aside, why're you really here?"

Vali let out a sigh, "The Red Dragon Emperor behind you, I was curious about him... speaking of that, why didn't you tell me you knew who it was?"

A bead of sweat dropped down Ryu's temple, he looked away, unable to meet Vali's gaze.

"Well? Out with it."

"...I didn't want you two to fight," Ryu muttered, "Knowing your adrenaline addicted ass... you'd take things too far."

Vali didn't have a response to that, because... Ryu was right.

"And I didn't tell him I knew you either, so... win-win?"

Vali pinched the bridge of his nose, "Alright, I won't bitch about it anymore," Vali spoke, "Let's bounce, I'm staying at your place tonight."

Ryu gave him a thumbs-up.

"Alright, see you two later me and Vali will be going," Ryu said to Asia and Issei.

Issei waved him off.

"Bye-bye Ryu!" Asia said to him, also waving her hand.

Ryu smiled at them before turning to Vali and the two of them walked towards the direction of Ryu's house.
