Chapter 114: I Didn't Say I Disliked You
Medical ninjutsu is a class of techniques where the practitioner stimulates cells with chakra to heal a patient's wounds. Through shape transformation, it can also be used for detoxification and offense.
Among the famous medical ninja in the world, besides Chiyo and Tsunade, the remaining medical ninja do not seem to have strong combat abilities. Most of them need to rely on the protection of others, or can only use some genjutsu for self-defense.
The reason is that learning medical ninjutsu requires a large amount of time, from a few years to several decades. Very few can master the Mystical Palm Technique and the Chakra Scalpel in just three or four years.
In addition, ninja are primarily combat-oriented. Ninja with fine chakra control generally still follow the traditional path, with fewer choosing a support role.
Nonō Yakushi's question made Sara's heart stir. Being a medical ninja was also a good choice. Kakashi had a strange potion that could heal wounds very quickly, but for minor injuries where that kind of potion wasn't needed, she might be able to help.
In terms of combat, it was too difficult not to become a burden to Kakashi and Mei Terumi. Combat required a great deal of practical experience, and it was very difficult for her, who had started learning ninjutsu more than ten years late, to keep up with their pace.
"Can I?"
Sara tilted her red hair slightly, pointing to herself, her eyes filled with hope.
"Of course, you can."
Nonō, who was not famous in the ninja world due to her profession, actually had first-class medical ninjutsu skills in Konoha. As Tsunade had said, she was a medical ninja second only to herself.
After receiving the white-robed nun's affirmation, Sara turned her gaze to Mei Terumi. The latter nodded in understanding. There was nothing to be done about her lack of talent for Water Release ninjutsu. If there was another path to choose, that would be good too.
Just like that, in a few words, the not-yet-appointed head of the Land of Rain's medical corps had accepted her first student.
"Sara, learning medical ninjutsu is not necessarily easier than Water Release. Are you mentally prepared?"
Just because Mei Terumi hadn't learned medical ninjutsu didn't mean Kakashi didn't know its difficulty. Sara's chakra control was not very precise. If she couldn't even practice ordinary ninjutsu well, how could she master medical ninjutsu in a short time...
He thought of the future Queen of Rouran. After seven years of training, she had barely reached the level of an ordinary jonin, and perhaps was even slightly inferior due to her lack of combat experience.
"I understand."
Seeing Kakashi's doubtful expression, the red-haired girl became even more determined in her conviction.
After finishing dinner, Nonō Yakushi consciously took her leave, her silhouette looking somewhat desolate from behind.
After she left, the silver-haired young man briefly explained the woman's true former profession and background to the two girls. But the two of them, while shocked, showed no signs of fear.
"No matter what, that was her former profession. Kakashi, you shouldn't care so much about someone's background, right?"
"Her subconscious actions don't lie. She's really good to the children by the roadside."
"You're taking the side of someone you've only met for a few hours. Does this mean you want me to bring other women home? Of course, I personally don't mind."
"You!"
Angered by Kakashi's ambiguous words, Mei Terumi shot to her feet. She glanced at Sara at her side and felt that such a thing might not be impossible.
Flustered by the orange-haired girl's reaction, Sara didn't know whether to go back to her room or to keep standing there. She could only lower her blushing face and pretend not to have heard.
Perhaps it was because of the silver-haired young man's final words. After the three of them took turns bathing, he got into bed. Mei Terumi, who was originally on the other side, wiggled over and squeezed into his embrace, breathing hotly on the side of his neck before giving him a sharp bite.
Halfway through the bite, feeling that Kakashi might be in pain, she changed it to a suck, only looking up in satisfaction after leaving a sizable mark.
A mark?
This kind of tactic might work on ordinary people, but for Kakashi, whose self-healing ability was already very strong, it was something that could be eliminated in just a few minutes.
And so, the orange-haired girl's happiness did not last long. She saw the mark on the neck of the guy hugging her disappear in a moment.
Kakashi had no time today to play these little games between couples with Mei Terumi. The even sound of his breathing soon let the girl know that he was already asleep.
Not giving up, the latter gently patted his cheek with her small hand. After confirming that this guy was really asleep, she slowed her movements, trying her best not to wake him.
"It would be nice if you were as not-annoying when you're awake as you are when you're asleep."
After whispering this, Mei Terumi closed her eyes and fell asleep, lying on the silver-haired young man's chest.
That night, Kakashi had an extremely terrifying nightmare. In the dream, an octopus was wrapped tightly around him, as if he had sunk to the bottom of the sea, ten thousand meters deep, unable to breathe, unable to struggle.
Early the next morning, waking up from the nightmare, Kakashi wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. Mei Terumi was not by his side. There was only a suspicious puddle of liquid on his chest.
"It was just a dream..."
After the young man muttered to himself, the door was quickly opened. The orange-haired girl, holding a towel, saw that he was already awake and froze awkwardly in place.
Crap... I absolutely cannot let Kakashi know that's my drool.
"What are you doing with the towel?"
"I saw you were sweating a lot... I came to wipe it for you."
Praising herself for her quick reaction, the girl quickly moved forward, preparing to wipe it away before this guy noticed.
"Wait, sweat??"
Touching the liquid with his finger, he pulled out a sticky string. Before Mei Terumi's face could turn from white to red, and then to shame-faced anger, Kakashi already understood why he had had a nightmare, and why Mei Terumi had brought a towel.
"You've never drooled in your sleep before..."
"You actually said it out loud..."
"What's wrong?"
"You actually said it out loud..."
"You actually said it out loud..."
Important things must be repeated three times. The orange-haired girl threw the towel aside, pounced on Kakashi, who had just propped himself up, her eyes filled with such angry resentment that the young man couldn't help but think that maybe he shouldn't have been so direct.
But this matter was very easy to solve.
His hands quickly wrapped around Mei Terumi's waist, and when she couldn't escape, he kissed her.
A few minutes later.
The dazed girl heard the guy whisper softly.
"It's not like I said I disliked you, right?"
