Chapter 18 - Chapter 17: Magic?

'It's a space magic, and it's even capable of storing things. This type of magic is already nearly nonexistent. If Loki-sama knew about it, she would probably lose her mind.'

Eina could already picture Loki going crazy.

After all, everyone in Orario knew that every time the "Loki Familia" went on an expedition, they would give up continuing simply because they ran out of space.

In other words, if someone in the "Loki Familia" possessed space magic, they could explore deeper levels of the dungeon without worry.

'Unfortunately, this kid who can use space magic didn't join the Loki Familia. If his ability remained unchanged even after joining the Loki Familia, then Loki-sama might really laugh herself crazy.'

However, Eina quickly lifted her head.

"Bell-kun, since this is such an important matter, you should be keeping it a secret. You should go back to your own familia and repack the magic stones, then bring them here to sell. That way, you could keep it a secret, right?"

Bell understood this idea, but he just couldn't do it.

After covering his face helplessly, he knew such a method would only make him stand out even more.

It was like choosing whether to let one person know or everyone know. Even with his eyes closed, Bell knew which choice to make.

"Miss Eina, the things I want to sell aren't just magic stones. If it were only magic stones, then I wouldn't need to reveal my magic. But the things I got from the dungeon aren't just magic stones."

'It's not just magic stones?'

Eina was momentarily taken aback.

However, Eina knew that the probability of monsters dropping items was extremely low.

While Eina was still confused, Bell quickly did something.

"Snap!"

With a quick snap of his fingers, a lot of weapons started falling into the empty space of the room.

This went on for a while and almost filled the whole room.

Bell let out a big sigh. He wasn't sure if it was just his luck, but after the goblins were defeated, they dropped a magic stone and a dagger.

The magic stone was normal, but the dagger definitely wasn't. Because of this, Bell decided to show one of his secrets.

It wasn't because he didn't want to hide it, but because he had so many daggers.

There were so many that if he tried to sell them, someone would definitely notice, and being noticed too early could be really dangerous.

Therefore, Bell chose to reveal his trump card only to someone he considered relatively safe.

"This many!?"

Eina was completely stunned by the barrage of clattering sounds and the pile of short daggers now lying on the floor.

She turned her neck stiffly to look at Bell and pointed at the pile of weapons on the floor.

"Bell-kun, are these… all drop items?"

Bell nodded helplessly and somewhat embarrassed.

After confirming that, Eina's face twitched slightly.

'How did Bell get so many dropped items?'

'Even a major familia like the "Loki Familia" wouldn't be able to obtain this many drop items in a single expedition. This amount was way more than the guild received in a whole day!'

Eina then picked up a short dagger and examined it carefully. Soon, she realized where these daggers had come from. She looked up at Bell, sitting across from her, and realized these were all items dropped by goblins.

However, why were such ultra-rare drops appearing in such large numbers?

The goblins weren't considered difficult monsters to kill in the dungeon—in fact, they were among the easiest to deal with.

However, it was precisely because they were so easy to defeat that goblin drop items were very, very rare. In fact, it might take a year or two for the guild to get even ten goblin daggers.

Moreover, the daggers here were at least in the hundreds, equivalent to what the Guild might collect over decades.

If someone had told Eina before that there was a person who could farm that many goblin short daggers, she would never have believed it.

It was simply impossible for anyone to have that kind of luck.

"Bell-kun, how many goblins did you kill today in total?"

Bell helplessly pointed to the pile of short daggers around them and gave a number.

"284 in total."

Just that number alone was already too much. The first floor of the dungeon shouldn't be able to spawn such a massive number of goblins.

After all, most of the time, monsters respawn at fixed intervals. Based on the goblins' respawn rate, the dungeon would only spawn them about three times a day, with only a dozen or so each time.

Then, where did the number 284 goblins come from?

Eina took a deep breath and looked at Bell with a serious expression as she asked:

"Bell-kun, did you perhaps run into a Monster Parade in the dungeon?"

"…Miss Eina, do you really think something like a Monster Parade could happen on the first floor?"

A Monster Parade is a phenomenon unique to the dungeon where monsters are being spawned in overwhelming numbers on a particular floor.

However, this kind of event typically occurs on the third floor or lower, not on the first floor.

In fact, it's proven that a Monster Parade can't happen on the first floor, or else the entrance to the dungeon would have been destroyed long ago.

Eina also realized that she had been mistaken.

The first floor shouldn't have a Monster Parade. However, she quickly came to another conclusion that even during a Monster Parade, it was impossible to encounter a number as large as 284 monsters.

Moreover, this kind of amount clearly hadn't appeared all at once. After all, even an Lv. 2 adventurer wouldn't be able to handle such many goblins attacking at once.

"So, Bell-kun, how did you encounter this many goblins?"

Actually, Bell hadn't really thought about this question himself.

While he did notice that there seemed to be a lot of goblins, the numbers didn't just appear all at once.

Now that he thought back on it, it seemed like after he killed one wave, another wave would appear after a brief pause.

"I don't really understand it either. After I killed four or five goblins, I would rest and wait a bit, and then I'd find another wave of goblins. The only time I stopped for a long while was during lunch, but other than that, whenever I adjusted and waited for a bit, I'd end up finding another wave of goblins being spawned."

As soon as she heard the answer, Eina immediately looked at Bell.

Clearly, this report and the number of goblins indicated that their appearance was somehow tied to Bell, no matter how she looked at it.

However, Eina wasn't sure if the answer she received was correct. After all, this was the first time such a strange thing had happened.
