Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5: FIRE IN THE ASHES

That night, the wind blew gently, but inside Jung Kok's headquarters, the atmosphere was unusually tense. Dim lights illuminated the small meeting room in the basement, where only four people were present: Jung Kok, Ryo, Yoon, and Min.

"Our weapon storage at South Port was attacked. Four people were injured. Half of the weapons are missing," Ryo reported, his face tense.

Jung Kok sat silently, his arms crossed in front of his chest. His eyes never blinked as he stared at the table.

"Who knew about that location?" he asked softly.

"Only the four of us," Yoon replied.

Min remained calm. He looked around with a sympathetic expression. "Maybe... someone from our side has been bought. Or has been under surveillance for the past few days."

Jung Kok didn't respond immediately. He looked at Min. "Who do you think it is?"

Min shrugged. "I don't want to accuse anyone, but we need to stay cautious. When confidential information leaks, it means... something isn't right."

Silence lingered. The tension crept slowly, like black smoke filling the small room.

Elsewhere — Jung Joon's Headquarters

Jung Joon welcomed the wooden crate containing weapons with a satisfied smile. His subordinate, Sang-wu, looked impressed.

"How did we find out about their storage location? Do you have someone on the inside?" asked Sang-wu.

Jung Joon chuckled softly. "Don't ask too many questions. What matters is that the information is accurate. This is just... the beginning."

What they didn't realize was that the information had actually been passed on by Min — not to help Jung Joon, but to fan the flames of hostility even more.

Back at Jung Kok's Headquarters

A few days after the incident, Jung Kok sat in his office. The glass walls gave him a wide view of the city, which glowed in the light of the night.

He sat lost in thought, holding a cup of coffee that was nearly cold.

"Min," he said quietly.

Min, who had just entered, replied, "Yes, boss?"

"I want to test them. I'll give false information about another location. If that information leaks again... we'll know who the traitor is."

Min smiled faintly but lowered his head so it wouldn't be seen. "Understood. I'll make sure everything goes smoothly."

Behind the Scenes

Min moved carefully. He passed the false information to Yoon 'accidentally' — in the form of a misplaced report.

Ryo was baited with other information, but Min was more inclined to make Yoon the subject of his test.

Jung Kok watched from afar, unaware that Min was already setting the next steps in motion.

Hwang's Headquarters — The Father Who Watches

Hwang received reports about Dae-gun, who had started recruiting remnants of the old gang. He was uneasy. The old man began calling his former associates, strategizing on his own.

But what troubled Hwang more than the enemy... was his two sons, who were now on separate paths.

"Don't let this bloody history destroy everything," he muttered to himself.

The Last Night of the Chapter

On the roof of the headquarters, Jung Kok stood alone. The night wind ruffled his tangled hair. In the distance, the neon lights of the city appeared dim.

Min appeared behind him, holding two cups of coffee.

"Tired?" Min asked, offering one of the cups.

Jung Kok gave a weak smile. "Can't sleep. Too many things on my mind."

Min stood next to him, sipping his coffee slowly. He gazed at the night sky before lowering his gaze.

In his heart, he whispered:

> "Sometimes, the most dangerous enemy is not the one who comes to attack… but the one who comes bringing a cup of coffee."
