Chapter 5 - annoying guest

City Outskirts

Noel: "So you're telling me…

you're the Omega King?

The one who was killed by his mate and tortured by his wife?" 🤔

Aaron: "Yes—

WAIT. WHAT?!" 😶

Noel: "Aren't you Omega Royal King Aaron?" 🤔

Aaron: "Yeah!" 😤

Noel: "Then it's true."

Aaron: "Impossible! Which kingdom is this, spreading such disgusting rumors?!

My mate is pure and innocent!

And my wife— she's my best friend!

Whoever started this, I'll behead them personally!" 😤

Noel: "Mr. King, for your kind information…

You're in the future.

Your story is our history." 😎

Aaron: "What—

No.

No way.

You're pranking me!" 😤

Noel: "Then look there." 😎

Aaron followed her gaze.

He saw massive buildings, lights glowing without fire, poles holding ropes of wires everywhere…

Every building lit up like stars — bright without candles or moonlight.

It was beautiful.

And terrifying.

A world where no living creature from his time should exist.

Aaron: "No… way…" 😨

Noel: "Just go back to wherever you came from.

I have work tomorrow, I need sleep." 😤

She started walking away.

She glanced back…

He was still standing there, like a statue, wearing only her coat.

Realizing he was completely lost, Noel sighed.

Noel: "If you want, you can stay here… but only today.

Tomorrow you leave." 😐

Aaron didn't respond.

Noel: "Hey! I'm talking to you!" 😤

She touched his hand.

Instantly—

A blue spark flashed between their fingers, like electricity jumping between souls.

Noel: "What the—" 😶

Aaron: "What was that—" 😶

Noel's House

It was small.

Very small.

A tiny hall.

A kitchen squeezed on the left.

A bedroom barely big enough to lie down in.

Bathroom outside.

Old terrace.

A house at the border of the city —

looking old, creaking like a haunted shack.

Noel entered.

Noel: "Do you want something to eat?"

Silence.

She turned.

Aaron: "Is this a house or an animal shelter?

And that too… only one animal can fit inside." 😒

Noel: "What did you just say?

Do you want to DIE?

Don't insult my house!" 😤

Aaron: "Girl, don't call this a house.

Even a horse would feel offended living here.

It's a shelter." 😑

Noel: "Mr. King, if you don't want to stay—

leave." 😤

Aaron: "Who said I want to stay in this animal shed?

I'll go." 😎

He stepped outside…

A cold wind smacked him.

Hard.

The thin coat did nothing.

He shivered and immediately marched back inside.

Noel: "Didn't want to go outside?" 😎

Aaron: "Only for today.

Tomorrow I will find somewhere else." 😤

Noel: "But who would stay in an animal shelter?" 😏

Aaron: glares 😈

Living Room

Aaron wore the second-hand clothes Noel kept — clothes neighbors had thrown out during summer.

He sat beside her.

Aaron: "I want to take a bath." 😒

Noel: "You can't." 😑

Aaron: "Huh? Why?" 🤔

Noel: "This is not a palace.

We don't have private hot-water baths.

There's no heater.

You'll have to wait until morning and use the public washroom." 😑

Aaron: "What the—

You live worse than a beggar, girl." 😒

Noel: "Mr. King, PLEASE shut your mouth.

You're extremely annoying." 😤

Aaron: "Y–YOU—!" 😤

He stormed off into the bedroom.

Noel sighed, guilt creeping into her chest.

She knew.

He was a king — used to luxury, endless rooms, baths, servants, power.

Now he had a one-room house, no hot water, barely any clothes…

and those clothes weren't even his — they were thrown out by neighbors.

For the first time, she felt truly sorry for him.
