Chapter 11 - Confronting and hooking Amelia

Justin awoke from his meditation, thinking about something to kill time.

Back on Earth, there were many ways; however, this world was so undeveloped that the choices were very limited.

What made it worse was that this continent was extremely peaceful.

There were no beast tides, barely any conflict, or interesting places to visit.

He used to enjoy chaos as a gamer and preferred it over peace as a cultivator, but then the elven elder came to mind.

She was his type, and he liked her, but his curiosity was the main reason.

He knew elves lived on the central continent, and by all means, this way was a black water region.

It was peaceful, but a nightmare for talented cultivators.

The Qi density was a joke, and the secret realms it birthed were Great at best.

Naturally, the treasures it produced were garbage for such individuals.

Unless someone like her was troubled somehow, there was no reason to come here.

Justin rose, intending to confront her.

She was a Soul expert, not a threat to him at all.

The worst-case scenario was rejection, but he had experienced that before.

He strolled down the stairs to the outer zone where she stayed.

"Elder Amelia!" He called her name, even though he believed it was fake.

She opened the door a few seconds later, cupping her hand once she saw him.

She exclaimed, "Greetings, grand elder!", surprised by his visit.

"You may call me Justin. Can I join you for a little chat?"

Ameila nodded upon his words, moving aside so he could step in.

He walked to one of the seats present, then approached the subject immediately.

"What is a beautiful elf like yourself doing here?" Justin questioned, watching her face go sour.

Her form dissolved like gas, appearing beside him with a thin, blue sword.

She swung her sword at Justin's neck, resulting in immediate failure.

"Y-y-you, what are you?!" She shouted, witnessing him unfazed, even though her sword hugged his neck.

Her face turned grim, and she stuttered to speak.

She couldn't understand, believing she was much stronger than he was.

Justin held her wrist softly, pushing it and her sword away.

He responded, "Relax, I'm just curious."

He had anticipated rejection, albeit not this violent.

Ameila eventually calmed down, regaining her courage before questioning him.

"How did you know?"

She guessed he came from the central continent like her, but wished to hear his confirmation.

"Will you open up if I answer you?" Justin asked with a smile.

"That depends on your honesty. But if you lie, then I will lie as well."

Justin frowned internally, 'Is it an innate ability, or is she bluffing?'

Then he suddenly smiled, having a perfect method to confirm his suspicions.

"I was hit by a truck..." He muttered, curious about her reaction.

Amelia frowned, feeling confused.

She sensed no lies in his words, but had no clue what 'truck' meant.

She asked, "What is a truck?"

"Something that killed me, but that's how I got to know about your race," Justin answered vaguely, blurring the details.

He wanted to raise her courtesy, and he believed feeding her the details might end negatively.

"Fine, I will tell you," Amelia spoke, releasing a sigh of relief.

She couldn't understand, but she didn't intend on going back on her words either.

"I had a fiancé I loved a few years ago. We were engaged because of our talents, but then I caught him betraying me with my younger sister. I---"

"Oh, I suppose we are the same." Justin cut her off, exclaiming involuntarily.

Then he asked, "But why did you escape?", seeing no valid reason.

"They did it behind my back, but we were getting there..." She responded, knowing that having more than one lover was the norm.

"Anyway, I acted clueless and slowly plotted my revenge. Soon enough, I slitted my sister's throat and ripped off his yang member." She finished her explanation, lowering her head as if she had committed a crime.

"Wooooow," Justin burst out laughing, wishing he could have done the same.

"I had a similar situation, but unfortunately, I could do nothing but let go." He continued a moment later, after calming down.

Doing such a thing on Earth could have him imprisoned immediately, there were laws there after all.

He stood up, nudging her on the shoulder before appeasing her.

"Have no remorse, you've done the right thing. Don't leave that thorn by your side."

Then he left her alone, heading to the door.

"Think about my words and consider moving on, I like you after all," Justin muttered, shutting the door behind him.

'That should be enough to hook her,' He thought, skipping to the training grounds.

It was around the agreed-upon time to announce the tournament, and he liked being there early.

A few minutes passed, and Rey's voice echoed through the sect, calling all disciples.

"Everyone should be here in a few minutes at most," Rey appeared, his carefree voice beating him to Justin.

"Thank you, I will bring the board." Justin disappeared for a few seconds, appearing again with the announcement board.

He struck the ground with his sword, digging two massive holes before sinking the board's handles.

"Welcome, juniors! Read the board, then feel free to fill me in on your doubts."

Justin stood beside the board, his voice traveling through the training grounds.

A few minutes passed, then the first question arrived.

"How could you prove that it's not a time waste?"

It was a question requesting proof.

"Do you think this is enough, or do you want more?" Justin answered with a smug as the pills appeared, filling both of his hands.

The disciples were silent, showing no further signs of rebellion.

"Since everyone is convinced, then we shall begin. Seek elder Rey's residence if you are an outer disciple, otherwise, you should come to me."

With everything decided, Justin waved his hands.

He returned to his residence, preparing himself for the disciples.
